NJPW turns down AXS TV offer

AXS wanted to bring NJPW back to its network but NJPW turned them down. It states, "the issue with AXS came down to not expanding their brand on other platforms if they were signed back to AXS TV and locked down to a contract with them. WIth Roku, NJPW has that opportunity to expand their company on the US market."

I wish I knew more about either of them to know if this was good or not.

NJPW's US TV deal with Roku isn't an exclusive deal, which means they can shop around with other networks. Had they agreed to a TV deal with AXS, it would've locked them down to an exclusive deal. Anthem is heavily promoting Impact, so in all likelihood an NJPW show on AXS would've meant its show being on at 2:00 am on Saturday with no marketing.

AXS has contacted NJPW--again today. They want to give NJPW another US TV deal. NJPW stars Juice Robinson and David Finlay's appearance on Impact drew good ratings.

New Japan should look for a more mainstream option, though it may be difficult. I don't think they can make it onto one of the Big Four networks, but something that is actually accessible for a large population.

VICE offered MLW the same money that they offered to New Japan. It's probably a great deal for MLW, but that's gotta be chump change for New Japan.
