Main event: Catch 2/2 (Francesco Akira & TJP) (1-0) vs BULLET CLUB War Dogs (Drilla Moloney & Clark Connors) (1-0)
Tag record: 1-0 War Dogs
After Catch 2/2 put away the Ichiban Sweet Boys, and Clark Connors and Drilla Moloney defeated MUSASHI and YOH in their opening bouts Saturday, the current and former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions collide in our main event. It’s been just over three months since Moloney capitalized on betraying former allies in the United Empire to side with Connors, the two ending Catch 2/2’s spectacular run with the gold. That title change would take place in Korakuen Hall, with a match that spread to every inch of the venue. Will this be just as wild an affair with twokey points on the line, and can Akira and TJP finally get revenge from earlier this summer at Independence Day?
7th Match: Intergalactic Jet Setters (Kevin Knight & KUSHIDA) (1-0) vs HOUSE OF TORTURE (SHO & Yoshinobu Kanemaru) (0-1)
The Intergalactic Jet Setters came into Super Junior Tag League reeling from a hard ought loss to BULLET CLUB War Dogs in Ryogoku, with their first match seeing them victorious against a very game DOUKI and TAKA Michinoku of Just Five Guys. Meanwhile HOUSE OF TORTURE’s campaign got underway with a loss to Titan and BUSHI in Saitama Saturday. Last year’s league saw Kevin Knight and KUSHIDA pick up a win over H.O.T’s fielded team of SHO and Dick Togo, but will they get the W now that the dastardly heel master Kanemaru has joined their ranks?
6th Match: MUSASHI & YOH (0-1) vs El Desperado & Master Wato (1-0)
The sixth match of the evening sees a pair of teams that didn’t seem like likely pre-tournament combinations facing off. El Desperado is having to put aside deep ill will toward Master Wato in order to gain success in the league, and on night one, they were indeed successful, just a long way from being on the same page. Meanwhile old friends united by circumstance, MUSASHI and YOH got their campaigns off to a difficult start Saturday when they fell to BULLET CLUB War Dogs. Who comes away with two more points tonight?
5th Match: Just Five Guys (DOUKI & TAKA Michinoku) (0-1) vs Ichiban Sweet Boys (Kosei Fujita & Robbie Eagles) (0-1)
DOUKI and Robbie Eagles have always been at odds ever since both men had their first Best of the Super Jr. tournaments in 2019. Korakuen sees that rivalry continue tonight, as the 0-1 TMDK side of Eagles and Kosei Fujita face DOUKI and TAKA Michinoku of Just Five Guys. Which side can get on the board?
4th Match: The DKC & Ryusuke Taguchi (0-1) vs Los Ingobernables De Japon (BUSHI & Titan) (1-0)
The ‘Funky Fire’ of DKC and Taguchi got off to a shaky start in Saitama on Saturday, as they fell to El Desperado and Master Wato. Meanwhile, BUSHI and Titan’s main event collision with HOUSE OF TORTURE ended in a cathartic victory for the masked men. Now the LIJ side want to get to four, while DKC and Taguchi seek their first success in the first tournament match of the evening.
3rd Match- NJPW World TV Championship- Zack Sabre Jr. vs Boltin Oleg
After Boltin Oleg’s due NJPW World TV Championship shot, opriginally scheduled for September, was delayed due to an injury, the Kazakh Giant now gets his shot in Korakuen Hall. Boltin ran through each of his Young Lion compatriots in a Hat Trick Challenge back during the G1 Climax, all in dominant form. But can his power and amateur credentials be enough to upset the most winngest champion of the modern era in ZSJ?
2nd Match: Just Five Guys (Taichi, SANADA & Yuya Uemura) vs Los Ingobernables De Japon (Tetsuya Naito, Yota Tsuji & Shingo Takagi)
As the road to Wrestle Kingdom’s main event continues, tetsuya Naito and SANADA will tangle, while a lot of intrigue surrounds Yuya Uemura’s in ring reunion with his Young Lion contemporary Yota Tsuji. With Tsuji and Shingo Takagi, as well as Taichi and Uemura dropping hints that they’ll be teaming during World Tag League to come, this is a match full of intriguing interactions, and none of these six will be holding back any.
1st Match: Shota Umino, Ren Narita & Oskar Leube vs United Empire (Great-O-Khan, Callum Newman & HENARE)
As Shota Umino gears up for his IWGP US and UK Championship match with Will Ospreay in Osaka November 4, and Great-O-Khan gets ready for Jon Moxley at Power Struggle, six man action will kick off the night’s proceedings in Korakuen Hall. Meanwhile, will Callum Newman’s pace be enough to survive Oskar Leube’s size and power?
