The opening contest of the event was a six-man tag team match for the IWGP NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Team Championship. Featuring the reigning and defending champions Chaos© represented by the trio of Hirooki Goto, Kazuchika Okada and Will Ospreay. And the trio of challengers of Chase Owens, Robbie Eagles and Yujiro Takahashi aka Bullet Club. Which saw the “Rainmaker” aka Okada pin Takahashi with the Rainmaker Clothesline.
Next up the IWGP JR Heavyweight Tag Team Championship was up for grabs in a triple threat tag team match. Which pitted the defending champions Hiromu Takahashi and Shingo Takagi© aka Los Ingobernables De Japon and two sets of challengers. The first being Suzuki-Gun’s El Desperado and Yoshinobu Kanemaru and the second being Roppongi 3K’s Sho and Yoh. Which saw Sho get the pin on Takahashi following him and Yoh hitting their 3K finisher.
In the third match it was time for the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship match. Again, it was a triple threat tag team match which saw the Killer Elite Squad. Aka the duo of Davey Boy Smith Jr and Lance Archer defeat LIJ’s Evil and Sanada© and the Guerrillas of Destiny. To become the new champions after Jr hit a Running Powerslam on Evil.
After that the “Ace” Hiroshi Tanahashi© successfully defended the IWGP US Championship. Against the former champion, the “American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes.
However, Tanahashi had no chance to recover as he would have to defend his second championship. This time around the IWGP NEVER Openweight Championship. His opponent? The leader of the stable named after him aka Suzuki-Gun and Minoru Suzuki. Despite being exhausted from the previous match Tanahashi would manage to get back-to-back wins.
After that the penultimate match of the event, a one-on-one men’s division match. For the IWGP Intercontinental Championship which saw the defending champion Chris Jericho©. Successfully fend of the efforts of Zack Sabre Jr, albeit by the result of a time limit draw, so it wasn’t a definitive win.
Finally, the show closed out with a match for the company’s top prize aka the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Between the defending champion, “Switchblade” Jay White© and the winner of the 2019 New Japan Cup. The leader of Los Ingobernables De Japon aka Tetsuya Naito. Despite underhanded tactics from White he would fall victim to the Destino.
