I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking that when I first looked. Thank goodness theirs some quality Matches added. Ospreay vs Tsuji really stands out to me because it's something fresh and I haven't seen a dozen times over already.

Strong Style, Team Nagata embark in best of seven series​

Trios battles to run through Road to Destruction

The Road to Destruction has a new combustible element added to it, as explosive six man tags will unfurl throughout the tour.

Ren Narita and Shota Umino have been at one another’s throats since well before the G1 began. Generational rivals since their Young Lion days, the two were itching to get in the ring across from one another as soon as it was revealed they would be in the same G1 block. Yet their opening night bout ended in a 20 minute draw, and didn’t satisfy either man’s desire to show that they are the sole leader of a new generation in NJPW.

At the G1 final, matters escalated when Narita was joined by his teammates in Strong Style, Minoru Suzuki and El Desperado. Opposite them, Shota Umino enlisted Yuji Nagata and Master Wato for a perfect storm of hatred. Nagata and Suzuki have been fighting one another for years, ever since Suzuki ‘s return to professional wrestling from the field of Mixed Martial Arts in the early 2000s. Meanwhile Desperado has long stated that he ‘hates everything about’ Master Wato, a hatred that has slowly been bringing about some of Wato’s more fiery performances, as he continues his journey to grand master status.

After a wild brawl in Ryogoku August 13, the main event in Togane, Chiba September 10 will now start a best of seven series for Strong Style and the Nagata led side. September 17 in Fukuoka, 25 in Nagoya, and 30 in Korakuen will see the series unfold before it’s final three matches on October 1, 7 and Destruction in Ryogoku October 9. It would certainly seem that whichever team of three can best the other will also have a very strong claim to being the best trio in New Japan Pro-Wrestling right now- except perhaps for the NEVER Openweight 6 Man Tag Team Champions. How will this volatile situation play out?​

After the events of All Star Junior Festival and Multiverse United 2 this past weekend in Philadlephia, the cards for the Destruction series are now complete, and Ryogoku has had two more title bouts and special single match added to a loaded lineup!

Hiromu Takahashi headed into the weekend looking to show off junior heavyweight wrestling at its best, and left with two contenders who know they can beat the Time Bomb hot on his heels. At All Star Junior Festival 2023, a wild main event saw Mike Bailey win the one night only ASJF tournament, besting Kevin Knight in the final. That, and a victory for the Speedball over Takahashi during Best of the Super Jr. this year, set up Bailey for a title shot, but X Division Champ Lio Rush had his own ideas.

At Multiverse United 2, Rush pinned Hiromu to win the night’s special tag team match. The X Division Champion pinning the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion was news in itself, but now Rush has double gold in mind. The result- an action packed three way battle in Ryogoku!

From a debut to a return as The Intergalactic Jet Setters are back Ryogoku. There, they seek to challenge Clark Connors and Drilla Moloney. At ASJF 2023, Kevin Knight put an end to Connors’ hopes of winning the one night tournament, and now he and KUSHIDA have their eyes on the gold. Will the titles go back to the jet setters, or has BULLET CLUB War Dogs’ time with the titles only just begun?

Also, Ryogoku will see Tanga Loa taking on Chase Owens as a part of Guerilla of Destiny vs BULLET CLUB war.

Tanga Loa ended the G1 tour with bringing a win to the G.o.D by pinning Chase Owens. But Chase is not happy with how he was pinned, and claimed a single match against him. Can Loa proves his win was not a fluke? Or will Chase be able to help David Finlay take down the G.o.D.?
