A BLOCK

BOSJ32蜃コ蝣エ驕ク謇狗匱陦ィ_逕サ蜒・BOSJ32_5.jpg

Master Wato
5th entry, first in two years. 2023 winner, IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag team Champion

After missing last year’s tournament due to injury, Master Wato returned to the ring in the autumn of 2024, but came up short in title matches for both IWGP Junior and NJPW World TV gold. The Way to the Grandmaster is a long and difficult one, but tag team title success is freshest in the memory, with Wato and YOH taking the gold at Hizen no Kuni. With the finals this year in the same Ota scene as his greatest career triumph in 2023, could lightning strike twice for Master Wato?

KEY MATCH: May 17 Yoyogi vs Ninja Mack
Master Wato will enter this year's BOSJ still with some lingering frustration at not having been part of the lineup in 2024. That year's highest flying debutant Ninja Mack faces the 2023 winner on May 17, and Wato will be keen to make up for that lost time in last year's tournament.

BOSJ32蜃コ蝣エ驕ク謇狗匱陦ィ_逕サ蜒・BOSJ32_11.jpg

Hiromu Takahashi
10th entry, 6th consecutive. 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022 winner, IWGP Tag Team Champion

Best of the Super Jr.’s winningest wrestler, Hiromu Takahashi won an unprecedented three straight BOSJ tournaments between 2020 and 2022, but while he was in the mix toward the end in the last two years, he couldn’t bring the trophy home. 2024 saw him change gears and make a different kind of history by winning the heavyweight World Tag League and then the IWGP Tag Team Championships with Tetsuya Naito, but can he come back to the land of the juniors and find success?

KEY MATCH: May 15 Korakuen vs Francesco Akira
May 15 will see Hiromu Takahashi's first match with Francesco Akira in three years, and only his second all time. 2022 saw the Time Bomb victorious over then debuting Akira, but with numerous tag titles and a challenge for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship since, there is no doubt that the four time tournament winner will have his work cut out for him in this long awaited rematch.

BOSJ32蜃コ蝣エ驕ク謇狗匱陦ィ_逕サ蜒・BOSJ32_6.jpg

KUSHIDA
12th entry, 3rd consecutive. 2015, 2017 winner

Two time BOSJ winner KUSHIDA had a torrid return to tournament competition in 2023, his four point record so far off his prior form that he originally didn’t make the cut in 2024. Called in as a late substitute for the injured YOH however, KUSHIDA pulled out the stops for a string of impressive performances that ended on a competitive 4-5. Will the Timesplitter continue to make strides back into title contention in 2025?

KEY MATCH: May 18 Hachioji vs Dragon Dia
Despite a very impressive 2024 campaign, a loss to Dragon Dia had to be the most painful for the Timesplitter. When a newcomer to the tournament lineup only gets one win in their campaign-against you- it tends to stick out like a sore thumb, and KUSHIDA will be keen to redress the balance in Hachioji.

BOSJ32蜃コ蝣エ驕ク謇狗匱陦ィ_逕サ蜒・BOSJ32_9.jpg

Kosei Fujita
2nd entry, 2nd consecutive. Career PB: 3-6 (2024).

A trying debut year for Kosei Fujita in BOSJ saw him to a humble six points, but with memorable performances across the board, including in defeat to eventual tournament winner El Desperado. Heading into his second year in the tournament with the confidence of a champion- indeed the youngest ever to wear IWGP gold- Fujita aims to go further in 2025.

KEY MATCH: May 27 Numazu vs Clark Connors
May 27 will be a battle of two recent challengers to El Desperado's IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship Last year, Fujita's win over Connors was a huge boost to his debut campaign, and put himself and Robbie Eagles on a long path to the IWGP Junior Tag titles they held up until Hizen no Kuni. Will Fujita be successful over the War Dog again?

BOSJ32蜃コ蝣エ驕ク謇狗匱陦ィ_逕サ蜒・BOSJ32_8.jpg

Ninja Mack
2nd entry, 2nd consecutive. Career PB: 4-5 (2024)

Ninja Mack brought spectacle in spades in his BOSJ debut last year, and a 4-5 record proved that there was substance behind the sizzle. Now Mack is in his second year, he'll be looking to for a positive record, a final spot and overall victory, with social media buzz feeling all the better when his hand is raised at the end of the night.

KEY MATCH: May 11 Iwanuma vs Robbie X
Iwanuma may well see the most spectacular of the A Block matches as two premier high fliers face off. With Robbie X looking to make a mark on short notice into this year's tournament, will he be able to defeat the acrobatic Mack?

robbie.jpg

Robbie X
BOSJ Debut

Making his BOSJ debut in the departing BUSHI's stead, Robbie X already made waves in last year’s Super Junior Tag League, where he teamed up with fellow War Dogs member Taiji Ishimori and even earned a title opportunity at Junior Genesis. Known for his innovative and high-speed offense, Robbie X could very well be this year's dark horse.

KEY MATCH: May 18 Hachioji vs Kosei Fujita
Back in early April, Robbie X and Taiji Ishimori challenged Kosei Fujita and Robbie Eagles for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships. WHile the challengers fell short, X's performance created a lot of buzz, and opened the door to his entry in this tournament. Some six weeks removed, will X turn buzz to results in Hachioji?

BOSJ32蜃コ蝣エ驕ク謇狗匱陦ィ_逕サ蜒・BOSJ32_13-1.jpg

Francesco Akira
4th entry, 4th consecutive. Career PB: 4-5 (2022, 2023)

While teaming with TJP, Francesco Akira has been one of the key players in the Junior Tag Division. However, success in the Best of the Super Juniors tournament has eluded him so far, partly due to a knee injury that sidelined him the previous year. After a hard-fought match against the current champion, in which Akira came up short, he now sets his sights on claiming the top spot in this year's tournament.

KEY MATCH: May 27 Numazu vs KUSHIDA
One year ago, Francesco Akira was eager to face KUSHIDA in a battle of the legendary TAJIRI's proteges. Eagerness turned to disappointment though when a stern KUSHIDA took the Italian to task. One year on, and Akira will be looking to get his win back in Numazu.

BOSJ32蜃コ蝣エ驕ク謇狗匱陦ィ_逕サ蜒・BOSJ32_15-1.jpg

Clark Connors
4th entry, 4th consecutive. Career PB: 4-5 (2022, 2023, 2024). DEFY World Champion

It has been a strong year for the War Dogs member. Although he was unable to capture the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 19, Connors has delivered defining performances, including notable bouts against current champion El Desperado. He also added the DEFY World Championship to his résumé. Now, he's focused on coming out on top in this year's Best of the Super Juniors tournament.

KEY MATCH: May 18 Hachioji vs Hiromu Takahashi
Perhaps the biggest trophy to hunt in this year's tournament for Connors is Hiromu Takahashi. Despite wins over Hiromu led teams in the tag team ranks, COnnors hasn't wrestled the Time Bomb one on one since 2022, and now gets to do it in Hiromu's Hachioji back yard.

BOSJ32蜃コ蝣エ驕ク謇狗匱陦ィ_逕サ蜒・BOSJ32_17-1.jpg

Yoshinobu Kanemaru
8th entry, 5th consecutive. Career PB: 4-3 (2017)

The most experienced participant in this year’s BOSJ, Kanemaru is never one to be underestimated. As part of HOUSE OF TORTURE, he continues to rely on underhanded tactics which range from distractions to whisky spiting, all to steal victory from the jaws of defeat.

KEY MATCH: May 27 Numazu vs Master Wato
Yoshinobu Kanemaru is always one who enjoys clipping the wings of those with momentum, and will take pleasure in doing so to Master Wato. With Wato's recent knee injury history and Kanemaru's aggressive knee based offense, this could be a very valuable win for the Heel Master.

BOSJ32蜃コ蝣エ驕ク謇狗匱陦ィ_逕サ蜒・BOSJ32_19-1.jpg

Dragon Dia
2nd entry, 2nd consecutive. Career PB: 1-8 (2024)

A multi-time champion in his home promotion, Dragon Gate, Dragon Dia struggled in last year's BOSJ, finishing at the bottom of his block. Now returning with added experience—including teaming with veteran Ryusuke Taguchi in the Skateboard Bros.—he’s aiming to make a stronger impact this year as an official participant and not a substitute.

KEY MATCH: May 10 Chiba vs Yoshinobu Kanemaru
In a second attempt at the BOSJ tournament, it will behoove Dia to explode out of the gates and get off to a strong start. May 10 that will mean him defeating the veteran Kanemaru and getting on the board right away.

B-block.jpg

B BLOCK

BOSJ32蜃コ蝣エ驕ク謇狗匱陦ィ_逕サ蜒・BOSJ32_2.jpg

El Desperado
9th entry, 6th consecutive. 2024 winner, IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion

The Best of the Super Junior trophy was the last piece missing in the puzzle for El Desperado to cement himself as the central figure in junior heavyweight wrestling in 2024. With the trophy in his grip, Desperado produced his own event and captured the IWGP Junior Heavyweight title; while his reign was stopped by DOUKI, and knee surgery meant several months away, it’s hard not to circle Desperado as one of the central figures in all of NJPW in the last 12 months, a status that he will be defending in BOSJ32.

KEY MATCH: May 15 Korakuen vs Taiji Ishimori
Early in the tournament, El Desperado has to face his BOSJ 31 final opponent Taiji Ishimori. A successful defence of the IWGP Junior gold over Ishimori earlier this year in San Jose notwithstanding, Desperado knows the dangers Ishimori presents in what is sure to be a main event level matchup.

BOSJ32蜃コ蝣エ驕ク謇狗匱陦ィ_逕サ蜒・BOSJ32_3.jpg

Ryusuke Taguchi
21st entry, 1st in two years. 2012 winner

Another 2024 entrant who missed out on last year’s contest due to injury, Ryusuke Taguchi was a late departure from BOSJ 31 as a result of a road accident. Now, the elder statesman of BOSJ is looking to show that he won’t just be bringing up the, well, rear of the pack. The Goto Revolution in the heavyweight ranks could well fire up his fellow 2002 Dojo classmate; can the Coach take top gear from the rear in 2025?

KEY MATCH: May 14 Korakuen vs Titan
Two years almost to the day since his last singles match with the masked man, Ryusuke Taguchi will face Titan on May 14. In 2023, Titan beat the Coach and went on to the finals. Can Taguchi reverse the situation in Korakuen?

BOSJ32蜃コ蝣エ驕ク謇狗匱陦ィ_逕サ蜒・BOSJ32_10.jpg

Robbie Eagles
7th entry, 7th consecutive. Career PB: 5-4 (2019, 2022, 2023, 2024).

The model of consistency, Robbie Eagles has racked up a ten point, 5-4, positive winning record in four of his six prior entries. So close and yet so far from the final consideration in repeated BOSJ tournaments has seen Eagles show a rare frustration at times, a frustration perhaps resurgent with his recent loss of the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships. This year he hopes to finally advance out of the league stage and toward the trophy in 2025.

KEY MATCH: May 29 Joetsu vs Nick Wayne
Robbie will be singling out the ROH World TV Champion Nick Wayne in Joetsu. The last time a Ring of Honor Champion was part of the BOSJ lineup, then Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta was defeated by Eagles. Now the Sniper has his sights set on another young, debuting champion.

BOSJ32蜃コ蝣エ驕ク謇狗匱陦ィ_逕サ蜒・BOSJ32_4.jpg

YOH
7th entry, first in two years. Career PB: Finalist (2021). IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion

April of 2024 saw YOH in position for what many expected to be his first IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship win over his former tag team partner SHO. It was a dislocated shoulder though that put YOH on the shelf for six months, and took him out of the BOSJ tournament he was a runner-up in back in 2021. Returning in decidedly… unique form, YOH has expressed his artistic flair since his October return, and turned flair to hardware when he won the junior tag titles with YOH at Hizen no Kuni. Will BOSJ 32 see a singles trophy for the newly minted Hontai member?

KEY MATCH: May 17 Yoyogi vs Ryusuke Taguchi
It seems like of late YOH has been giving Ryusuke Taguchi a good run for his money on pure eccentricity. That makes this Yoyogi bout all the more intriguing. Who is stronger, and who is stranger?

BOSJ32蜃コ蝣エ驕ク謇狗匱陦ィ_逕サ蜒・BOSJ32_7.jpg

Kevin Knight
3rd entry 3rd consecutive. Career PB: 4-5 (2024)

One of the newest members of the AEW roster Stateside, Kevin Knight continues to fly to, and in Japan with his third entry to the BOSJ tournament. After successes with KUSHIDA as the Intergalactic Jet Setters, Knight aims to make 2025 the biggest year of his singles career to date, and that will mean a deep run in the league and perhaps to the finals.

KEY MATCH: May 11 Iwanuma vs MAO
One of several first time matchups put on the board for this year's BOSJ, Kevin Knight vs MAO might be one of the most intriguing. The athletic stylings and unique offense of both men make this one for Iwanuma fans to keep their eyes on.

BOSJ32蜃コ蝣エ驕ク謇狗匱陦ィ_逕サ蜒・BOSJ32_14.jpg

Taiji Ishimori
9th entry, 8th consecutive. Career PB: Finalist (2018, 2024)

Having been runner up in both his first and his most recent Best of the Super Jr., Taiji Ishimori enters for the ninth time this year. In 2025 so far he has come just short of both the IWGP Junior Heavyweight singles and tag team titles, but could score another shot at title glory with a win in the ultimate junior heavyweight tournament.

KEY MATCH: May 25 Nagoya vs SHO
Not one month after HOUSE OF TORTURE and War Dogs do bloody battle int he Dogpound Steel Cage, the two factions collide once again as Taiji Ishimori battles SHO. What happens in this reunion in Nagoya?

titan.jpg

Titán
6th entry, 4th consecutive. Career PB: Finalist (2023)

Having first entered the BOSJ twelve years ago, Titán is now one of the tournament’s most seasoned and respected veterans despite his relatively young age. After making it to the finals in 2023 and narrowly missing the semifinals last year in a close bout against TJP, he’s been inching closer to the top. With that momentum behind him, 2025 might finally be the year the man from Mexico goes all the way.

KEY MATCH: May 25 Nagoya vs YOH
2023 saw Titan make an impressive run to the finals of BOSJ 30, coming up just short of Master Wato to lose at the final hurdle. On May 25 in Nagoya, he faces Wato's tag team partner, and will be looking to show he can go all the way to the trophy this time.

BOSJ32蜃コ蝣エ驕ク謇狗匱陦ィ_逕サ蜒・BOSJ32_16-1.jpg

SHO
8th entry, 8th consecutive. Career PB: 6-3 (2020)

A current NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champion, SHO enters his eighth straight BOSJ as one of the most consistent competitors in the lineup. Known for his antics as a member of HOUSE OF TORTURE, this year will be a true test of his individual strength—especially if he’s left without backup. How will he fare when it’s just SHO and the ring?

KEY MATCH: May 17 Yoyogi vs Robbie Eagles
In three prior meetings for SHO and Robbie Eagles in Best of the Super Jr, the Murder Machine has never been able to put away TMDK's Sniper of the Skies. Will Yoyogi finally see SHO's fate change?

BOSJ32蜃コ蝣エ驕ク謇狗匱陦ィ_逕サ蜒・BOSJ32_21-1.jpg

Nick Wayne
BOSJ Debut

At just 19 years old, third-generation wrestler and AEW representative Nick Wayne becomes the youngest participant in Best of the Super Juniors history—surpassing the likes of a young Alex Wright and La Sombra by a year. With the chance to make history as the tournament’s youngest-ever winner, the road ahead won't be easy. Only one man—Will Ospreay—has ever won BOSJ on his first try. Can Wayne defy the odds and follow in those footsteps?

KEY MATCH: May 17 Yoyogi vs Kevn Knight
Nick Wayne may be young, but has grown up in the wrestling business, and a good deal of his formative years has been with a student of his father's in Kevin Knight. With both now in the same block, these two will cast a friendship aside in a bid for two points in Yoyogi.

BOSJ32蜃コ蝣エ驕ク謇狗匱陦ィ_逕サ蜒・BOSJ32_20-1.jpg

MAO
BOSJ Debut

Despite prior appearances at Despe Invitacional and All Star Junior Festival USA, it wasn't until Jr. Genesis April 4 that DDT representative MAO made his NJPW debut proper. Not only was he successful in the ring, but when winning over the crowd as well, with DDT and NJPW fans alike impressed by his athletic style and easy charisma. Can he make a significant mark in his first BOSJ?

KEY MATCH: May 17 Yoyogi vs El Desperado
A favourite of El Desperado's, MAO has been on the same side as the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion in tag action, but has never faced off against him. That changes in what should be a spectacular battle on May 17.

Best of the Super Jr. 32 Night 1 (May 10) Preview

Two blocks in action for first night in Chiba

The annual pinnacle of junior heavyweight wrestling, Best of the Super Jr. gets underway on May 10 in Chiba. The first night of action will see both blocks competing, as everyone looks to get the crucial first points on the board.
Watch live in English on NJPW World!

Main event: B Block- El Desperado vs Titan
Singles record: 2-1 Titan

0510_8.jpg

The first main event of the tournament sees a rematch from the first main event of 2024, and another meeting for Titan and El Desperado in this tournament for the fourth consecutive year. While El Desperado claimed victory in last year's Best of the Super Jr., he did so despite a loss to Titan on night one of his campaign, and when the two met in 2023's semifinal the result was the same.

Desperado brings not only the honour of being defending BOSJ champion into the tournament, but the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship, and will be treating every match over the next few weeks as if that title were on the line. Through four defences thus far, most recently against Titan's CMLL colleague Templario, Despe has been successful, but it truly feels as if Titan has his number. Will the luchador, and another now former Los Ingobernables de Japon member, start his 2025 campaign with a win? Having won the Campeon Universal tournament in CMLL just recently, can he ride that success to his first BOSJ trophy this year?

7th Match: A Block-Hiromu Takahashi vs KUSHIDA
Singles record: 4-2 Hiromu

0510_7.jpg

In another rematch from the first night of last year's Best of the Super Jr. tournament, familiar rivals Hiromu Takahashi and KUSHIDA square off in the A Block main event. Though this is the seventh time for the two to compete since Hiromu Takahashi returned from excursion in 2017, several more battles while he was a Young Lion helped shape the Time Bomb into the man he is today.

That Time Bomb was quick to assert himself in NJPW and in Los Ingobernables de Japon, with Takahashi winning his first IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship from KUSHIDA in his first singles match back at Wrestle Kingdom 11. Ever since, wins were rare for the Timesplitter, and there was a definite changing of the guard in the position of junior heavyweight ace of NJPW, Hiromu's success eventually leading to the formation of the Takahashi/Desperado/Ishimori 'big three'.

Through those developments, KUSHIDA would leave for America in 2019, and returned in 2022. The first time the two tangled since that return saw a frustrating loss for KUSHIDA via countout, amid a risible tournament that had the veteran questioning his place. That frustration was dispelled in 2024, and a strong showing began in the best possible way with KUSHIDA's first win over Hiromu in almost six years. Will lightning strike twice in 2025? Or will Hiromu, in his first singles bout since the dissolution of Los Ingobernables De Japon reinvent himself with a successful opening to his own campaign?

6th Match: A Block- Kosei Fujita vs Francesco Akira
Singles record: 1-0 Akira

0510_6.jpg

Kosei Fujita and Francesco Akira will go one on one for the first time in Best of the Super Jr. action, and the first time since Fujita's Young Lion days. Both of these young men have established themselves as key players in the junior division's future, with both earning chances at the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship this year and coming close to defeating El Desperado. If they want another shot at Despe, first they will need to capture the BOSJ trophy, with Francesco Akira looking to follow in the footsteps of the United Empire founder Will Ospreay, and Fujita looking to beat Ospreay's record of the youngest winner in tournament history.

5th Match: A Block- Dragon Dia vs Yoshinobu Kanemaru
0510_5.jpg

Dragon Dia might only have gotten one win in last year's Best of the Super Jr. campaign, but his sole victory over KUSHIDA came at the end of the tournament, ensuring that he finished strong and could be in position to begin a streak in Chiba. His foe tonight in Yoshinobu Kanemaru can claim victory over Dia and Ryusuke Taguchi from back during the Super Jr. Tag League, a factor that will see Dia hungry for revenge and the first two points on the tournament board.

4th Match: B Block- Nick Wayne vs SHO
0510_4.jpg

Nick Wayne has a difficult NJPW debut on his hands, as the youngest ever entrant to Best of the Super Jr. has to contend with SHO. Wayne represents as the ROH World TV Champion, which might bring sore memories for SHO, who unsuccessfully challenged Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara back at Wrestle Dynasty for the ROH Tag titles along with Yoshinobu Kanemaru. Add lingering ill will from the Dogpound Steel Cage match back at Dontaku, and SHO might be pulling out some dirty tricks here tonight in Chiba. Will Wayne's upbringing in the wrestling world, and his study under the devious Christian Cage be enough for Wayne to dismantle the Murder Machine?

3rd Match: Toru Yano & YOH vs TMDK (Hartley Jackson & Robbie Eagles)
0510_3.jpg

In a preview of tomorrow's contest for Robbie Eagles and YOH, heavyweights Hartley Jackson and Toru Yano get involved tonight. Eagles has been frustrated about his loss of the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag team Championships ever since YOH and Master Wato scooped the gold in Saga last week. Will he get a measure of revenge, and perhaps set the pace before heading to YOH's Miyagi home turf?

2nd Match: Master Wato, Ryusuke Taguchi & Kevin Knight vs MAO, Tiger Mask & Shoma Kato
0510_2.jpg

Stars are out in force in this six man preview of MAO and Kevin Knight Sunday. While that looks set to be an explosive athletic showcase, eyes will also be drawn to Shoma Kato. The Young Lion is making his return after time out due to an ankle injury, and looks to be hitting the ground running to make up for lost time.

1st Match: Ninja Mack & Katsuya Murashima vs BULLET CLUB War Dogs (Robbie X & Taiji Ishimori)
0510_1.jpg

We start the evening's action with Robbie X and Taiji Ishimori reviving their tag team for a cross block preview of tomorrow's A Block contest. Robbie X vs Ninja Mack is sure to be one for the highlight reels, but who will highlight the opening day with a win?

Best of the Super Jr. 32 Night 2 (May 11) Preview

A and B Block action continues in Miyagi
After an exciting opening night, the Best of the Super Juniors 32 continues in Miyagi on May 11, with the remaining ten competitors stepping into the spotlight. Each of them will be looking to earn their first crucial two points and gain early momentum.
Watch live in English on NJPW World!

Main event: B Block-Ryusuke Taguchi vs Taiji Ishimori
Singles record: 5-2 Ishimori

0511_8.jpg

Two veterans, two Miyagi natives, and two very different styles collide in this main event. Taiji Ishimori and Ryusuke Taguchi both have the same level of experience and the same home prefecture of Miyagi, but their paths have diverged dramatically over the years. Ishimori holds the edge in singles competition, winning five of their seven meetings. Known for his cold precision and technical mastery, the Bone Soldier will be aiming to start his tournament strong.

Taguchi, on the other hand, enters as the hometown favorite from Iwanuma. While his unorthodox antics and comedic flair often draw laughs, his experience and ring IQ make him a perennial dark horse in the tournament. Can the Funky Weapon pull off an upset in front of a home crowd, or will Ishimori continue to dominate this rivalry?

7th Match: B Block- YOH vs Robbie Eagles
Singles record: 2-1 YOH

0511_7.jpg

Robbie Eagles enters this contest with a score to settle. After he and Kosei Fujita lost the IWGP Jr. Tag Team Championships to YOH and Master Wato, the Sniper of the Skies is out for payback—and sets his target this time in singles action.

YOH holds the advantage in their head-to-head record, but each contest between these two has been fast-paced, hard-fought, and razor-close. With both men known for blending aerial agility with technical precision, we can expect a stylistic clash that could steal the show. Will Eagles hit his mark, or will the ever-eccentric YOH dance his way to a win and his first two points?

6th Match: A Block- Master Wato vs Clark Connors
Singles record: 1-0 Master Wato

0511_6.jpg

The only previous singles encounter for Clark Connors and Master Wato came during the Best of the Super Juniors 30, where Wato picked up the win, en route to the BOSJ trophy. Two years on, and Connors will be hungry to even the score, but one major factor could be his schedule—he’s competing at Resurgence in Ontario, California the night before. Fatigue might play a role as he flies across the ocean for this bout after what is sure to be a physical eight man tag. Connors is no stranger to longer periods without sleep, but depending on how Ontario goes, this match could either feel like an afterparty—or a rough hangover.

For Master Wato, the night marks a critical return to the Best of Super Juniors tournament. After winning in 2023, he was forced to miss last year’s competition due to a knee injury. Now, he's aiming to pick up right where he left off after already capturing Jr. Tag Team gold. With both men looking to make their mark in singles competition this year, expect an intense clash.

5th Match: B Block- Kevin Knight vs MAO
0511_5.jpg

Two of the most charismatic and athletic wrestlers in the field square off for the very first time in singles competition. Kevin Knight and MAO previously shared the ring as part of a scramble match at Multiverse United in the summer of 2023, but after the barest of contact in that bout, the chancer to square off one on one is something both athletes are relishing.

Representing DDT Pro-Wrestling, MAO brings his unpredictable, chaotic energy to the BOSJ stage, fresh off a strong showing at Jr. Genesis 2025. On the other side, Kevin Knight—now flying the AEW banner along with NJPW—continues his global breakout run, combining high-flying flash and with serious power. A clash of styles, cultures, companies, and confidence, who will get their B Block campaign off to the stronger start?

4th Match: A Block- Ninja Mack vs Robbie X
Singles record: 1-0 X

0511_4.jpg

Two of the most dynamic junior heavyweights in the world face off in the first tournament of the night as Robbie X takes on Ninja Mack.

With both men looking to expand their footprint in NJPW via the Best of the Super Jr. this year, this is going to be a hard fought matchup as each combatant fights for the points and the eyes of the fans, but thus far in their careers it's been Robbie X with the advantage. The last time these two faced off was during the 2024 Best of the Super Juniors Tag League, where X, teaming with Taiji Ishimori, picked up the win, and the only singles match for the two in the UK saw Robbie with his hand raised. Now, the War Dog member makes his singles debut in the Best of the Super Juniors tournament, aiming to carry that momentum forward. On the other side, Ninja Mack is determined to turn last year’s 4-5 record into a true breakout performance in 2025.

3rd Match: Shingo Takagi & Hiromu Takahashi vs TMDK (Hartley Jackson & Kosei Fujita)
0511_3.jpg

Tag team action will see an intriguing preview of Wednesday's Korakuen Hall main event between Kosei Fujita and Hiromu Takahashi. A hard fought battle for the upper hand between arguably NJPW's junior heavyweight aces present and future is accented by a hard hitting power based fight for Shingo Takagi and Hartley Jackson. At time of writing, this could well be a preview by proxy of the Dominion main event, as Shingo targets the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion who could well be Hartley's teammate Zack Sabre Jr. after Resurgence.

Meanwhile, we're seeing Takagi and Hiromu teaming for the first time not under the Los Ingobernables De Japon banner. Neither man is affiliated with any faction at present, but still share their alliances and common bond. What might come from this combination?

2nd Match: El Desperado & Shoma Kato vs Nick Wayne & Daiki Nagai
0511_2.jpg

Korakuen will see one of the most anticipated matchups of the entire tournament when Nick Wayne tangles with El Desperado. Tonight's tag team preview also sees a bonus aggressive reunion for Shoma Kato and Daiki Nagai. Nagai has continued to talk trash about Kato even as he healed from injury, and now has to try and back up his words.

1st Match: Dragon Dia & Katsuya Murashima vs United Empire (Francesco Akira & Jakob Austin Young)
0511_1.jpg

We'll get started in Miyagi with tag team action and a prelude of Dragon Dia and Francesco Akira's next Korakuen Hall matchup, all to start a big night two for Best of the Super Jr. 32!

After watching probably one of the best Episodes in Star Wars TV History now it's time to cap off the night with Day 1 from BOSJ.

Ninja Mack I have no doubts that he gave his family headaches the problems he caused flipping around the neighborhood all hours in the day

When will New Japan listen to me and tell Wato to change up his look? I legit think he can be a Singles Champion within the Division but his look doesn't scream it and I don't know anything about him. Make me want to get behind him is something that pisses me off with Companies not doing such a thing.

One of the things that also annoy the shit outta me is guys no selling injuries within a Match. Dia should of not of done that move off the top the way Kanemaru worked the shit outta his legs.

Man I'm shocked Fujita got the win over Akira. I thought for sure Akira would breeze by his Block but it's going to be even more tougher to achieve that goal. It sucks Akira and Fujita are in the same block giving them more time in a Final would of been lovely.
