Nick Diaz is one of the most polarizing characters in the fight game today. However, since his UFC return Diaz has fought a total of only three times - against BJ Penn, Carlos Condit, and Georges St-Pierre. His win over BJ Penn consisted of constantly pushing him back against the cage and unleashing barrages upon barrages of punches dominating the Hawaiian in a one sided slug fest beating him via 29-28, 29-27, 29-27 unanimous decision.
Diaz was then scheduled to take on Georges St-Pierre for the welterweight championship at UFC 143, but a torn ACL forced the champion out of action and Diaz instead fought up and coming welterweight Carlos Condit for the interim welterweight championship. Diaz put Carlos up against the fence but spent a lot of time trash talking, as Condit used level changes and puzzling striking combinations to bring home a unanimous decision of his own and forcing Diaz to temporarily retire from the fight game.
After St-Pierre defeated Condit at UFC 154, he pushed for Diaz to come out of retirement in which they finally gave to him, in which the champion dominated Diaz over the course of 5 rounds and giving GSP his biggest solo buyrate in his UFC career.
Regardless of his unfortunate record, Diaz is easily one of the most marketable stars in mixed martial arts and has gone on record to say that although he doesn't enjoy fighting he's willingto continue his MMA career for the right price. This weekend, he spoke to Loretta Hutt of Sports Illustrated about a possible return to action.
Many fights for the Stockton Bad Boy have been in talks since his last appearance. A Matt Brown fight seems to favor a lot of fans at the moment as the two share an aggressive style and would more than likely be a fight of the night candidate. Also a rematch with Carlos Condit has been said, but with Condit still nursing his knee injury that won't happen on the timeline in which Diaz is hoping for. Hector Lombard and Robbie Lawler are also big talks, but whatever the fight should be... you could imagine Joe Silva and Sean Shelby will have an interesting time deciding as to who Diaz should face.

I'd personally like to see him and Anderson Silva go at it. Both are comng off lengthy layoffs and the buyrate would be a big enough payday to satisfy both their egos.
