Re: NFL 2012/13 Postseason Thread

So far Miami and Chicago have made the best moves. Miami getting Wallace and Ellebre are huge that can really benefit their team. Also Chicago picking up Martellus Bennett was a great move that will help take the attention off Marshall a bit. I'm surprised Giants didn't make more of an effort to re-sign him.

10-6.

Offseason isn't over and Ozzie always finds a way to fill needs and then some.

Ozzie usually doesn't have a QB making eleventy billion dollars.

No but it isn't the first time the Ravens have been tight when it came to cap space and had to let guys go and plug guys in. Ravens now have some cap space to fill some spots at a cheaper price plus the draft of course. Won't look like a big threat to repeat but should still be a playoff team.

Ozzie Newsome is a great GM and should be able to bring some talent in. I could see Karlos Dansby coming in and really helping the Ravens at middle linebacker.

I totally agree with you actually. Any good team has to make a lot of tough decisions. People think Belichick is evil or whatever because he cuts guys too soon instead of too late, which is what you have to do to survive.

That said,

Joe Flacco?

Re: NFL 2012/13 Postseason Thread

About his contract? Really had no choice but to give it. He did everything a QB would need to do in the playoffs in a contract year to be able have all the leverage in the world and ask for whatever he wanted. Him being the highest paid QB ever is ridiculous despite what he did but they couldn't even flirt with the idea of risking losing him.

It's not like the Dolphins are going to be any better with Wallace and Ellerbe. They're still the fucking Dolphins. Same with Tampa Bay and this Revis situation which looks like it'll be a deal soon. Both teams have crummy QB'S. Can't compete in this league until you address that issue.

Oh the Pats are going to sweep that whole goddamned division. Don't get me wrong, the Pats are a good team, but they really have it easy playing in that shit house AFC East. Hard to believe it wasn't long ago when the Jets looked to be fixing that issue but they're probably the worst team in it now.

Ryan Tannehill is going into his 2nd year, give the kid a break and wait to see him play another full season before calling him crummy. Freeman is decent, but needs to be more consistent. Both quarterbacks are far from crummy.

Both teams won 7 games last year and showed that they can compete by challenging for a wild card spot until early to mid December. It's too easy nitpicking your harsh comments, I'll stop and realize this is a wrestling site. Should be easy on the NFL fans.

Re: NFL 2012/13 Postseason Thread

lol Josh Freeman is awful. And that $30 million wide receiver that Tannehill threw to all of last season gained 25% of his total yards and 100% of his touchdown catches in one game, so I fail to see how he shows promise. When a mediocre wide receiver asks for that kind of money to stay with the team, he must think his QB is pretty bad too.

Re: NFL 2012/13 Postseason Thread

The standard of being a QB in the NFL has drastically changed and being fairly good doesn't cut it anymore. So, Tannehill and Freeman are both going to have to step up their games to be worth anything in the coming seasons.
