NGATADAY with a sack, Ravens showing that they might be the best team in the league right now.

I got them as the best with the 49er's second and Bears 3rd.

I'm leaning towards the Ravens this year again, if the Bronco's can keep playing like they did last night it's going to be hard to pick against them though. I could definitely see the 49ers in the Superbowl this year as well.

Glad to see the Ravens take care of the Bungles. Doesn't look like Cincy will be much of a sleeper this year with the way they played last night.

That game was close at the half. When the Bengals didn't score a TD on their first drive of the 2nd half that's when things started to unravel. They just met a Ravens team hitting on all cylinders. Still, with injuries to the offensive line it'll be tough road ahead for them. Fortunately most defenses aren't as good as Baltimore's.

I know it's one game but the Ravens looked really good last night with that win. Especially Flacco & Rice.

Pats 1-0, 1 down, 18 to go. Cardinals will be just another victim. Hopefully Ridley can keep up his high level of play which will the Pats offense absolutely unstoppable IMO and the defense can hopefully continue showing signs that they've improved over last year.

re: NFL 2012/13 Postseason Thread

I guess we also noticed that QB numbers were way down from last year's week 1. Defenses are adapting perhaps and I know having OTAs and training camp matter a ton.

I really think you're gonna need a balanced offense to succeed deep into the playoffs this season. This is mainly because a balanced offense keeps defenses guessing and a balanced offense can adapt better during a game. Let's look at the balanced ones right now as of week 1...

New England (their balance was really impressive)
Baltimore (could've run more actually)
San Francisco (dominated the Packers in both running and passing; GB D is awful though)
Dallas (still pass first team, but Murray is for real)
Chicago (mashed on a weak D, still the run set up big plays in the passing game; like Dallas the offensive line is questionable however)
Denver (running was tough going but it's the Steelers)
Washington (Alfred Morris actually kept the Saints D off balance; the run game helped Griffin succeed no question)
New York Jets? (didn't watch this game but the Jets killed the Bills and Shonn Greene had a good day)
Tampa Bay (yes seriously; TB controlled the line of scrimmage on offense AND defense)

These teams ran and passed effectively. There are probably more but I didn't get to see every game.

OH yeah...

Houston (epitomizes balance; this offense scares me the most of them all; reminds me of the 90s Cowboys a bit)
