Yeah, I think it's about the old way of booking prizefighting. You cant give big matches away on TV and then expect people to then pay PPV prices for whats effectively the same product. That what happened in the late 90s and 00s. WWE/WCW got greedy. Wanted it all and in the end forgot what they were in the first place.

So yeah, TV cards will be tournaments and some world title matches, like tag titles etc but the big super matches will be on PPV.

NWPW Finalizes $35 Million Acquisition of Pro Wrestling NOAH and All Japan Pro Wrestling; Promotions to Cease Operations Ahead of WrestleKingdom​

Tokyo, Japan — New World Pro-Wrestling (NWPW), the global sports-based wrestling organization owned by Seaport Entertainment Group Inc., today announced the completion of its acquisition of Pro Wrestling NOAH and All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) in a combined transaction valued at $35 million USD.

As part of the acquisition, both NOAH and AJPW will officially cease operations prior to NWPW’s WrestleKingdom event on January 3, 2026, marking the end of an era for two of Japan’s most storied wrestling institutions.

All rostered talent and personnel from both promotions will transition directly to NWPW’s IWGP Governing Body, beginning January 1, 2026.

A Historic Consolidation of Japanese Pro Wrestling​

This move represents one of the most significant consolidations in Japanese wrestling history.
NWPW now incorporates the rosters, training systems, intellectual property, and historical video libraries of both NOAH and AJPW into its IWGP structure.

Beginning in 2026:

• NOAH and AJPW branding will be retired.

Could do mate. TBH, I see GLEAT and DDT as the two organisations that continue underneath in Jan 2026. The breakdown I forsee.

Las Vegas, NV — New World Pro-Wrestling (NWPW) is proud to announce the launch of the inaugural NWA Middleweight Championship Tournament, an eight-man, single-elimination competition showcasing some of the world’s most elite middleweight wrestlers. The tournament begins January 6, 2026, at NWA Battle: Long Beach and will culminate in the crowning of the first NWA Middleweight Champion on the grand stage of SuperClash at Madison Square Garden, airing live worldwide on Amazon Prime PPV on February 14, 2026.

This tournament underscores NWPW’s commitment to sports-driven presentation, weight-class integrity, and world-class athletic competition across all divisions.

Tournament Participants​

NWPW is pleased to confirm the eight competitors vying for the new NWA Middleweight Championship:

• Zack Sabre Jr. — The world-renowned submission specialist seeking to add NWPW gold to his legacy.
• Santos Escobar — A hybrid athlete with elite lucha lineage and international credentials.
• Trent Seven — A powerhouse technician bringing grit, experience, and championship pedigree.
• Andrade El Ídolo — One of the world’s most dynamic all-rounders, now competing exclusively in NWPW.
• Timothy Thatcher — A grappling purist whose relentless ground game is feared throughout the industry.
• Karl Fredericks — A surging competitor returning to the NWA banner with renewed momentum.
• Drilla Moloney — Explosive, aggressive, and dangerous in tournament environments.
• Titus Alexander — A rising star known for speed, precision, and high-pressure composure.

Tournament Structure​
