NEW JAPAN PRO WRESTLING RETURNING TO PHILADELPHIA AND TEXAS THIS FALL

New Japan Pro Wrestling announced four new NJPW Strong tapings, taking their New Japan World streaming series outside of California for the first time.

NJPW Strong will be taped in Garland, Texas on 9/25 and 9/26 at the Curtis Culwell Center. The tapings will be titled Autumn Attack. For ticket information, click here.

New Japan will then run the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA on 10/16 and 10/17, billed as New Japan Showdown. This will be the first New Japan event in the venue since their combined tour with Jersey All Pro Wrestling in 2011. For tickets, click here.

Talents scheduled for the tapings include Jay White, Juice Robinson, David Finlay, Fred Rosser, Tom Lawlor, Brody King, Lio Rush, Chris Dickinson and more. Tickets will officially go on sale on 8/8.

Update on the G1 Climax

A number of wrestlers who reside in the US plan on living in Japan for three months so that they can work the G1 while avoiding quarantine-related problems,

Including KENTA, Jeff Cobb, and Chase Owens.

Several American-based wrestlers originally pegged for this year's NJPW G1 Climax have declined the chance to work the tournament.

NJPW officials are confident Kota Ibushi will be involved in the G1 following his battle with aspiration pneumonia, though it depends on his recovery.

Jay White, David Finlay, and Juice Robinson will stay in the US during G1 season.

Each have confirmed American bookings between 18 September and 21 October.

Several American-based wrestlers originally pegged for this year's NJPW G1 Climax have declined the chance to work the tournament.

I think NJPW is making the best of it boosting up their American presence at least, hope the G1 isn't hurt too much tho

Alexander James looking strong - first time i've seen him in person. Normally, he is just a name on a list of people in WxW so was cool to see him. Kevin Knight got slapped around in that first match though.

Coughlin is on a really nice trajectory - Rosser and Romero was a nice combo. I didn't feel like Ren Narita actually got that much focus on him. The Rosser vs. Narita beef after the bell though, makes this a really spicy situation.

Thought Strong was nice this week, loved both tag team matches and especially the way the show ended
