Plus, all the action will be available for FREE live or in English on demand at NJPW World!
Main event- IWGP Tag Team Championships: Guerrillas of Destiny (Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa) vs Dangerous Tekkers (Zack Sabre Jr. & Taichi)
Tag record: 5-0 G.o.D
Headlining the first night on the Road to Dominion, Guerrillas of Destiny will defend the IWGP Tag Team Championships against Dangerous Tekkers. This marks the third title match in 2021 thus far between the two teams, and the sixth overall, form being decidedly against the challengers. Five defeats for Zack Sabre Jr. and Taichi are on the record books, with January 4’s title loss to G.o.D at the Tokyo Dome perhaps the most painful, ending as it did with the BULLET CLUB side not only taking championship gold, but Taichi’s Iron Fingers From Hell away from their prior owners.
So began a long road to redemption for Dangerous Tekkers. In Hiroshima this February, the Suzuki-Gun tandem was within a hair of recapturing tag gold, but so incensed was Taichi at Tama Tonga’s taunts with the Iron Fingers, that he snatched back control of the weapon, and used it in a rampage that drew a disqualification loss. Yet with multiman records still strong, Taichi and ZSJ cracked open a windown of opportunity at Dontaku.
There on May 3, Sabre would defeat Tanga Loa with a backslide to secure his team a tag title opportunity. Moments later, and Taichi finally vanquished Tonga to retake, and then seal away forever, the Iron Fingers in a remarkable ladder match. Now, a tag title bout is official in Korakuen, and there will be no cursed fingers to serve as a distraction. With no distractions comes no excuses, and at third time of asking in 2021, a clear and undisputed champion team. Will G.o.D keep control of the tag division, or will it be Dangerous Tekkers’ time once more?
4th Match: CHAOS (Kazuchika Okada, Hirooki Goto, YOSHI-HASHI & Tomohiro Ishii) vs Los Ingobernables De Japon (Tetsuya Naito, SANADA, BUSHI & Shingo Takagi)
The semi main event Tuesday night will see an all star eight man tag with major championship implications. Chiefly will be Shingo Takagi and Kazuchika Okada’s interactions in advance of their IWGP World Heavyweight Championship bout at Dominion on June 7. With the title vacated by Will Ospreay due to injury, the championship’s last and next scheduled number one contenders will do battle in Osaka. Takagi may well have the edge in morale, having already beaten Okada in the New Japan Cup, but Okada has a good deal of pent up tension after several weeks of inactivity, and will be looking to let loose in Korakuen Hall.
3rd Match: Yota Tsuji & Kota Ibushi vs United Empire (Great-O-Khan & Jeff Cobb)
After an initial challenge was made at Satsuma no Kuni one month ago, and after weeks of speculation, the singles match between Jeff Cobb and Kota Ibushi is now set for Dominion on June 7. In the meantime, Cobb has been keen to show Ibushi just how much more effective his ‘Cobbigoye’ is compared to the Kamigoye of Ibushi. Master Wato was the first recipient of the devastating knee last week, and then Ibushi himself tasted the attack, the Golden Star crushed by the maneuver that is sure to guarantee victory for Cobb if he can hit it in Osaka Jo Hall. In the meantime, tag team action. Cobb and O-Khan are an intimidating presence as a duo, and will be a force to be reckoned with. After last Wednesday saw Tsuji knocked out by Shingo Takagi in the end of a challenging singles gauntlet, he will go from the frying pan to the fire tonight, but can he survive the flames alongside the Phoenix Ibushi Tuesday?
2nd Match: Ryusuke Taguchi, Tiger Mask, Tomoaki Honma & Hiroshi Tanahashi vs BULLET CLUB (Taiji Ishimori, Chase Owens, El Phantasmo & EVIL
Eight man tag team action sees EVIL returns to combat on the BULLET CLUB side tonight, while Tanahashi leads the way on the hontai team. Last week in Korakuen, Tanahashi, Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Master Wato scored a convincing triple tapout victory against BULLET CLUB; can the Ace stay in top form Tuesday? Or, with El Phantasmo and Ishimori as junior heavyweights and EVIL and Chase Owens holding the heavyweight side of the deal, is BULLET CLUB just too much of a well rounded team for the hontai side?
1st Match: Yuya Uemura, SHO & YOH vs Suzuki-Gun (Minoru Suzuki, El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru)
On a night when Suzuki-Gun returns to full strength, YOH is now able to pick up where his Dontaku campaign left off. At Dominion, YOH will finally have his scheduled IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship bout with El Desperado. Meanwhile Yuya Uemura will pick up once again with Minoru Suzuki- is Uemura’s lust for life (or death) enough to see him through the night?
