A good first Summer Struggle Show involving the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Titles. Nothing really blew me away, but the Main Event with Shingo/Sanada/Bushi vs Suzuki/Douki/Desperado I thought was the best Match. It seems Suzuki wants Shingo for the Never Openweight Title and he'll get that shot Shingo runs from no one. Also this teasing of Ibushi turning Heel has me interested. It is not the first time they have teased this, but damn why do it showing Ibushi not knowing what to do with his career after another beatdown. 8/7 should be better on paper.

Yeah happy to see the G1 Climax Schedule being planned out. Happy as hell even more YOSHI-HASHI finally winning a Title within NJPW. When Okada put it around his waist in the Trios Tourney it made me shed a tear.

NJPW cancels event after wrestler develops fever

NJPW officials decided to cancel its Summer Struggle event on Thursday in Uwajima due to COVID-19 concerns.

One of the wrestlers slated to work the event developed a fever and the decision was to be cautious. Thus, the event was nixed. NJPW issued the following statement:

“Unfortunately, one of the wrestlers scheduled to appear had developed a fever. The wrestler immediately undertook additional COVID-19 testing, but New Japan Pro-Wrestling is still awaiting results. Under NJPW’s Coronavirus guidelines, and acting in the best interests of health and safety for other wrestlers and fans in attendance, the decision was made to cancel tonight’s event.”

The event was slated to feature six multi-man tag team matches. The headliner was IWGP Champion and Intercontinental Champion EVIL, Taiji Ishimori and Dick Togo vs. Naito, Hiromu Takahashi, and BUSHi.

As of this writing, New Japan Pro Wrestling is still scheduled to hold a non-televised show this Sunday in Shizuoka.

The promotion will return with broadcasted events on August 26th to kick off the King of Pro Wrestling tournament.

NJPW isn't taking any risks, not a bad thing.

I imagine he somehow wins the US Championship, but I doubt right now with Covid hitting the World we see KENTA vs Moxley anytime soon. They'll have to make a decision by Wrestle Kingdom on what to do with the title.

In the November 17 episode of IMPACT in the match between Brian Meyers and Crazzy Steve, Josh Matthews mentioned Chris Bey and TJ Perkins will participate in New Japan's J-Cup on December 12 and customers can watch it by subscribing to NJPW World. Looks like NJPW and IMPACT are gradually repairing their relationship.

Then add Don Callis being on AEW and being referred to as from IMPACT Wrestling...

Jon Moxley mentioning he holds two belts in two different continents...

Holy fuck that would be quite a trio relationship of promotions.
