I don't know what part of the country you are from or how much you leave your house, but fuck dude, if you don't think there is a good deal of racism still directed specifically at blacks for being black than idk what to tell you other than you are simply wrong.

Has it taken a back seat to racism against Mexicans? absolutely. people are so casually racist against Mexicans it is crazy lol. even legislation like in Arizona discriminates against those poor bastards.

Did I say that there wasn't? No. I said there was discrimination on some level or another against many different races. It's not exclusive to just blacks, they just have a much uglier history of being discriminated against as compared to virtually all other races. Still, racism comes in many forms and a black man can be just as racist as a white man (or a man of any ethnicity) can.

I feel that yeah, since we all go to school with blacks and since interracial friendships and relationships are a pretty common and accepted thing and since we have a PRESIDENT who is black, then I feel we have largely (not entirely, but almost entirely, as in 98%) moved long past racism, at least here in Western civilization. Other countries and continents might be a different story but then nothing says that if racism thrives elsewhere in the world that blacks have to be the ones on the receiving end of it.

Well, there's no need to put an arbitrary number on it, but you get my point. I fail to see how outlining why blacks hardly have it rough compared to anyone else these days (such as Mexicans, as you mentioned yourself) means that I'm suffering from delusions. And sorry but on top of everything else, yes, having a President who is black is just another sign of racism being a thing of the past for this country. Doesn't mean there aren't still racists in the world or even just in the US, but here in America, it does strongly indicate that they're the very small minority, and many of them aren't likely to ever make their views public due to fear of knowing they'll be dismissed as a bigot.
