New Benoit Messages Released

ATLANTA -- Channel 2 has obtained phone messages from pro wrestler Chris Benoit to his wife and son in the days leading up to their murder-suicide. The phone messages from Benoit, relatives and friends give new insight into what happened before and after the wrestling star killed his wife and young son before killing himself in their Fayette County home in June 2007.

Channel 2’s Tom Regan reviewed the answering machine messages, which until now, have not been released publicly.

“Hi honey. Hi Dan-Dan. Sorry I missed you. I’ll try you on your cell phone. Love you. Bye,†is one of the endearing messages from a father to his wife and son.

It’s one of the many telephone messages, some disturbing, that police found in Benoit’s home following the murder-suicide last June.

“Hey Chris, it’s Anne from the office. Just trying to get in touch with you. It’s Sunday evening, I think about 7 p.m. So we’re hoping everything is OK. Call me on my cell phone,†said one message.

One message came from Benoit’s 7-year-old son, Daniel, apparently directed at his father but it’s not clear when the message was left.

“Hi pooh bear. Be back soon. Just be there, OK? Eh, pooh bear? See ya pooh bear. Love you,†the message from Daniel said.

Since there was no suicide note we may never know why the wrestling star killed his family. It happened over a weekend in June 2007 when Benoit was supposed to be out of town for a wrestling match. On Sunday night, a concerned colleague called. “Hey Chris, it’s Anne from the office. Just trying to reach out to you. Give us a call when you get a chance.â€

The next day there was another worrisome call from a friend or relative. “Hi Nancy, it’s Marty in Canada. Just wanting to see if everything is OK because we have heard terrible reports on the radio. We’re just calling to confirm. So hopefully, we can talk to you soon. Bye.â€

And then there was a sad call from Nancy’s father. “My name is Paul Pomploni, Nancy Benoit’s father. I’m trying to get in touch with one of the police officers there. Would somebody please call me?â€

Although the Benoit case is closed the battle continues over how his multi-million-dollar estate will be settled. Nancy Benoit’s family is also planning to sue the WWE for responsibility in the wrestler’s actions. Benoit’s father claims his rampage was the result of brain damage suffered in the ring.

In all seriousness i still dont think that Benoit killed them. He may have killed himself but i think that that is because he found his wife and son dead. Somebody, i've got no idea who, but i think somebody else killed the two of them. So i'm calling it a double-homicide, suicide becuase i think that they dont really know who killed them so they blamed Chris to make another reason as to why the professional wrestling was bad for kids

hell I say Kevin Sullivan did it...but I ain't got no proof he did...just like the cops and all them don't have proof Benoit did it...

People trust me I have had feelings about stuff like this before then storys and stuff like this come up and I turn out right...The cops need to look in to this more then they are...but they don't wanna cause they just don't give a damn

Everyone here can agree on this I know...if it was someone in Baseball,Football,or Basketball they would look in to this way more then they did with Benoit..

Now, this is really awful and Blue. These people just want to get some money from WWE and that's why they are trying to re-open the case and make some fake investigation which gets them the lawsuit and the nice green bags.

Even if the brain damage was caused inside the ring, Benoit is responsible and he was wrestling on his own how is the WWE responsible for his brain damage?

Why would Benoit kill himself after seeing his family dead?

Sure, anybody would prolly want to do that, but as it said over the news there was a bible next to him. So he must have been reader of that fictional book, The Bible. Anyway, in the Bible it does say if you kill yourself you go straight to hell.....why would he kill himself, knowing he wont see his family again? I wish I could say someone else did it, but facts are facts. Evidence is evidence. Benoit killed his family, then himself. It's a sad thing to happen to a (what I hear) a great man. But, you gotta face it. If it happened to soem random dude on the street, people would say he did it, its obvious. But since its a guy people seen every week, think they know him, heard stories of him, and were a fan of him, they think "no way, Benoit? Impossible!" Well, the impossible is posible folks, because he did it. OJ did it. Michael Jackson (may have) did it. So stop saying you dont think he did it, it's annoying because sure that may be your opinion, but at the end of the day, a FACT over powers an OPINION!

On the note about the estate, money, ect.

Last I heard, Michael Benoit, his daddy, wants the money to go to Chris' other kids. Nancy's family are just gold diggers and want the money. I think his other kids should get it. They didnt have the oppertunity to have Chris kill them, it's not fair (I kid, I kid) Seriously, they shoiuld get the money. Not Chris' parents, not Nancy's family, Chris' other kids!

What benoit on that weekend, has nothing to do with WWE.. He was ment to work on that weekend.. No one could get a hold of him.. So i don't know how they can get a case for this...

no there are no facts. my dad is one of the top forensic scientists in the world, no lie either, and i know what some criminals do. People can clean up most of their prints and DNA. They can even make it look like someone else killed them by killing them too and using another victim's prints to cover up theirs. This would have been very easy considering that there was so much time between the actions and the findings. The cops need to look into the smaller details to find out who actually committed the crime.

Lastly, it's difficult to argue with facts and if you display your opinions as being facts then no one can argue with you since it's a "fact" and then you can take loads of WWE $$$ by filling a lawsuit against them.
