Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

I'm sticking by the Lakers until the franchise goes under.

AL has lost to Cleveland the past 3 years and even before that.

How could AL do such a thing?

I would say Kobe needs to say something but he don't got much room to talk.

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

Nets and Nuggets agreed to a Melo trade.

  • NJ -Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Sheldon Williams, Melvin Ely and Renaldo Balkman
  • Denver - Devin Harris, Derrick Favors, Troy Murphy, Ben Uzoh and four first-round draft picks (LA, GSW, Houston, Jersey) to Denver.
Nets retain:
- Lopez
- Hump
- Vujacic
- Morrow
- Farmar

The Nets kept their best and 3rd-6th best players while adding Melo and Billups (plus that trash Outlaw stayed). Those picks don't mean a damn thing since only one was actually for NJ and since Melo's teams have never missed the playoffs in his career. They are end of the 1st rounders, which don't help Jersey in the long run because they make capholds and get guaranteed roster spots. Jersey should get some 2nds so they have the option of filling out the roster for cheap and have rights to other players while not restricting their chances to make a play at another free agent. Kudos Nets assuming Melo extends because of feeling disrespected by the Knicks for not getting the deal done and assuming he would just come to them like a little punk bitch this summer.

Carmelo to the Nets with Billups, Sheldon Williams, Melvin Ely and Renaldo Balkman. The Nets give up Devin Harris, Derrick Favors, Troy Murphy, Ben Uzoh and four first-round picks to Denver. This all pends on if Melo signs the 3 year, 65 million dollar extension.

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

I'm gonna laugh if they do this trade and Melo doesn't sign an long term deal with Jersey, but I'm assuming for this deal to be truly done they got that worked out or something.

IDC as long as he doesn't go to the Knicks.

They won't do it if Melo doesn't agree to an extension. Prokhorov is meeting with him over the break to discuss it.

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

That's what I figured since the deal was dead at one point. I have a feeling it's not gonna go smooth though as Melo obviously just wants to play for the Knicks.

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

I'm not sure if it's him wanting to play for the Knicks, or playing in New York, which he will either way.

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

True only reason I think it's more so for the Knicks is because of the garden and playing with Amare. If it's just him wanting to be in New York period then this should have no problem getting done.
