Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread
Don't you think you should try to separate the two instead of moping and half assing it?
Kobe and Shaq fought like cats and dogs but on that court they went to work and kicked ass. Kobe during Colarado came back and hit game winners and dropped 40 on the Spurs, on the same day as he was in court. Fisher came flying back from his daughter having surgery on her eyes because of cancer and killed the Warriors in the playoffs. Odom played some of the best ball of his career after his son sadly died of SIDS, up until he hurt his knee back in 07. MJ led his team to a 3rd title after his dad was murdered. Carmelo came back and dropped a huge double double, while locking up Durant after his sister died.
The court should be a place where you can channel every frustration, emotion, and feeling you have. It is disrespectful to the game of basketball, your teammates, and a franchise if you let your effort be dictated by off the court issues.
I could honestly give Pau a pass if he was out there and trying to play hard. He could play horrid as long as he literally gave an effort and didn't just show up. There were just too many times where he got beat by Landry, Dirk, Aaron Gray, and those guys because he wouldn't run down the court, box out, or work and seal his guy in the post. It was just sad to watch a guy basically play 10 games almost like he didn't give a fuck and had checked out. That is why Staples booed him, former Lakers are killing him, and the media is hounding him.
