Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

They were in the lotto every year but 3 with Pau, won no playoff games while paying him more and having a higher payroll, and their attendance was lower in Pau's last 3 years. It was a business move for them because they maxed out what they could do with him as a first option, mainly because he is too passive for a first option IMO since hebonly attempted 14 shots at most in his career. What Wallace saw in Zach and Marc (can understand Arthur from college and somewhat Marc because there is no guarantee international ball skills would transfer) . Still the fact remains that Zach right now and Marc both have more of an assertive and go down swinging mentality that Pau had back then.

I agree that they didn't get a ring out of it but as an expansion franchise they had never won a playoff game, let alone a series. So there is progress being made from where they were when they made the deal both from a basketball and business perspective, don't you agree?

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

You'd be kidding yourself if you thought Jason Richardson wasn't going to get back on his game, as well as Hedo. Ryan & Brandon didn't do shit, either. They took a combined 8 shots. Ryan can go off for 30 any given night, too. As for Gil, w/e. Fuck him.

J-Rich is what I would call a Eddie Jones type. Numbers transfer but really can't step it up

I still wonder what happens if they don't do Gil for Lew trade, since he and Hedo may have clicked again

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

The points I think you're trying to make:

1. It ended up being a good decision to trade Pau. That's fine.
2. They've been largely successful since they traded him. Sure.
3. Zach Randolph has been great. I agree.

None of those points has anything to do with what they got back from L.A. for Gasol. Stop trying to defend that trade. It's like if I told you, "A couple years ago I traded in my Mercedes for a used tricycle, and then my stocks went through the roof, so everything's working out great." IT'S STILL A SHITTY FUCKING TRADE.

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

Which is why I said only Wallace can know what he saw in Marc, Zach, and Arthur as he has always said he had a plan. I'm not saying that on paper it doesn't look like a Sanford and son trade, but at the end of the day Fred always said one mans junk is an empire to another, lol.

Just saying he came out better as a gm in Memphis for his team because his vision worked, than he did as a gm in Boston where he sucked. He took a gamble and didn't crap out for once

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

She brought him some consistency so I don't give a damn because she keeps his ass grounded. LO used to be an inconsistent, club hopping, apparent and CD pushing, baller. Now he is a 2 time champ, gold medal winner, and 6th man of the year since he met her and they settled down as he put it.

Mike_Bresnahan:
Odom was a runaway winner, taking 96 of a possible 117 first-place votes. Jason Terry finished second in the voting, Thaddeus Yound third.

Green has gone ghost in the postseason for Boston so far, just like he did on OKC last year

Jeff Green is not good at basketball. The Celtics have decided that rebounding doesn't matter. And they're up 2 against Carmelo Anthony and the Funky Bunch. I'm not having fun.

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

Is Melo still not worth it or one dimensional, Sal?

He is carrying scrubs to a dead heat with Boston. They should have T'd Baby up too for that shoulder like they did Walker.

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

Yes, Melo still isn't worth gutting your team. You can't retroactively justify that trade when Deron could have been had for less and the Knicks are hanging around only because Boston's effort has been miserable and the referees are calling this like a mid-November game.

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

Deron kinda has a rebuilt wrist now, but whatever.

Melo is balling and leading his team like a superstar
