"Sources within WWE and IMPACT tell Fightful Select they expect Trinity Fatu aka Naomi to return to WWE, barring unforeseen circumstances. WWE has long had major interest in bringing her back."

Not massively moved by this personally but I don't hate it at least.

No surprise there, really. She'll be back asap, get some immediate short-term push and then get thrown back onto the dusty shelf in the back again. The usual...

not shocking, she upped her value and her legal family is there. She did great for Impact, can't say I am a bit sad to see her go.

I mean what is going to be the difference for them in the way they treat her. I rather see her not in WWE and thriving in Impact or AEW when her Contract expires.

If AEW wanted her they would of had her by now HoHo
She’s gonna go back home be with Jimmy sit back and get a nice check

Also tag division at least has a legit team at the top right now and they do have women’s tag matches on the regular…

it's a tiny bit better, but they still had one of Chelsea's first match as champ job to a single star. which was the original powder keg moment. I will never stop hoping for a good div tho

Singles tag guys almost always lose to higher level single wrestlers in one on one matches though… look how many time Dax lost singles matches as champ. Chelsea is a midcard talent and that’s for the most part what tag teams are is midcard talents either in their way up or back down or just relegated as tag team specialists

fwiw I hated Dax losing single matches when champ but I don't disagree its ok once in a while. the main issue for the women is that they very rarely have long stories or feuds with other tag teams and were used as fodder for single stars.

fwiw I agree in principle it's especially not really a big deal for Chelsea since as you said, she's been slotted as a midcarder in singles competition.

in either case I was mostly just relaying one of the reasons they originally left, if I'm being honest, the tag division was likely just a small drop in how they felt treated in general at the time of their departure.

oh for sure it wasn't just the tag shit
that was just the straw
another problem I see is using the tag division as a place to stick singles stars that don't have anything else going on..I hate that shit and WWE's women's division is extremely top heavy with main event talent and not nearly enough for them to do

I actually completely agree they are top heavy and letting a lot of their mid carders either fall through the cracks, get a one and done title shot or like u said, get paired up in random tags. now this isn'ta thing that only happens in wwe or only to women, but ya , the way the roster is currently constructed, it is very top heavy (bailey would be the champ anywhere else, for example).

perhaps 2024 they can rectify that a bit. I guess a midcard title might help but then u still have to book a tag div so the issue remains

I actually think with the talent in NXT that is ready to come up soon and the current roster you can develop a tag division and still have 2 midcard women's titles on the main roster and the two top women's championships...but it's gonna take time..and patience and who knows if they can do that right now...

2 womens worlds, 2 midcards seems a little overkill to me, not sure how you would get that consitently on tv along with 2 singles mens belts and two shared tag divs
