- WWE officials have been talking about breaking Michael McGillicutty away from David Otunga. The idea would be to re-package him and focus more on him being a third generation wrestler.

The talk has included dropping the McGillicutty name and letting him use his real name – Joe Hennig.

Word is that a few of the top names within WWE are backing McGillicutty.
I wouldn't be against this at all. I no his mic work is horrid (like many others in the E don't forget) but he's good a good enough look about him and he's a solid enough worker. I'm pretty sure Orton is one of backers as I believe he mentioned him at one of the SummerSlam partys where they revealed the WWE 12 roster.

I think it would be cool if they turned him face and in the process had someone like King mentor him. They could play up how well King knew Mr Perfect and how great he was etc

This would be the right thing to do even though his personality bores the fuck out of me. So I'm hoping not too big of a push.

I didn't see his wwe debut so i have no idea what he was doing before the nexus thing, but ive been waiting for him to be a singles competitor and use his real name.

He deserves a shot to make a name for himself. Being hampered as a WWE replacement for Nexus was never a good start on Raw. It always made him look like a lackey and well somebody that didn't have any chance to make it. He has the talent and pedigree to be a major player so they should at least see what he can bring to the table by himself.

Please no. This guy is so repulsively shitty, calling him awful is an insult to awfulness.

This kid can't be Curt Hennig's son, it's impossible. He, Ted jr and Cody HAVE to be adopted.

A name change would just solidify that he's bland and boring. If he was truly talented, the name wouldn't ever be a detriment.

Yeah I'm not much of a fan of Michael McG300t23ehwh, but he at least deserves a chance.

I'd probably struggle to get over if I was stuck David Otunga, too.

I think this would be a fantastic idea. I personally think that Otunga is holding McGillicutty back. I think as soon as they cut McGillicutty from Otunga, and put him in as a singles competitor. He will kick off well. At least that's my positive way on looking at it. Plus, I think Joe Hennig hits better as a wrestler than Michael McGillicutty.
