As most know now, MVP won the US Title on SD tonight. I, for one, am thrilled. But, what I want to know is, do you think he'll be able to have a succesful run with it, considering he's a face, instead of a heel? Part of what made me love MVP before was his cockiness, and putting down people (although if he was a real guy, I'd hate his guts), and as a face, I don't think we'll see him putting down the fans, and other wrestlers. So how do you think he'll do with the US title, now that he's a face?
And on a side note, do you think this limits his chances of winning MITB?

If he did indeed win (we don't see it where I am until 1am in the morning) then that means that he might not win the money in the bank match then. Just my opinion, but if the WWE is anything like movie award shows which they are at times (predictable) then he will not also go and win the MITB match too.

The Money in the Bank match is really too close to call this year. On one hand, you could say WWE took the title off Benjamin so he wouldn't have to drop it as Mr. MITB. On the other, you could say they're pushing MVP so when he wins the briefcase he'll seem much more legitimate.

Successful run? I'll wait a few weeks to judge. His last run will be pretty hard to top imo, but we'll have to wait and see how the Smackdown mid-card looks after the Draft.

I reckon this is sort of opening the door for Shelton Benjamin to win the Money in the Bank. If he does I will not be that happy with it happening but thats what i can see it doing. He has been close to the briefcase before with the RVD feud but yeah. Although if MVP was still heel then this would work in well with the US and World Championship Angle if it were to actually happen ala: JBL in 2007.

Now I can finally take MVP seriously again. This is great for him and gives him the much needed boost if he indeed will win MITB at Mania which will probably happen because Christian won't win and Punk sucks ass.

I like what the WWE is doing right now, It seems they are giving the mid-card titles some more air time as of lately with JBL winning the IC title and putting it on the line against Rey at WM 25, and Shelton droping the title to MVP I hope this is the beginning of some GOOD mid-card title runs. Also like some have said I do believe this opened the door for Benjamin to win MITB.

I'd shit my pants if Benjamin won MitB. This makes me want to see the MitB even more. But just because MVP won the US doesn't mean he wont win the MitB. Alot of people thought Jeff would win last year and he was still IC champ. And he only lost that because he was suspended. MVP could very well go on to win MitB. He could lose the US title before cashing in the briefcase. He could be the 1st US champ and "insert World title here" champ.

But as for his run, it should be good. I would have actually of wanted the Benjamin vs MVP match to be a ppv, to give them more time. He needs more character dept in his face character though.

That would have to be WWE or ECW Champ, because Goldberg won the World Heavyweight Championship while he was still US Champ, and a few before him...

I don't think Shelton dropping the US Title should be read into all that much. I think they simply realized how completely stale his reign was and that he's done NOTHING since being US champ. I don't think it has anything to do with a possibly MITB win.
However, it does worry me a bit if this will effect MVP's chances of winning MITB this year. I would imagine they would stray away from stacking titles on people. Either way, I think MVP's new US title win could definately be the start of big things this year either way.

MVP winning the U.S. Title was the smartest thing the WWE has done so far this year or so. MVP has talent, and it was about time to change him from heel to face. He is such a better competitor and a good look for the fan favorites. Smackdown sucks, and they need more faces on there... and doing this was a smart idea, and I'm glad they went through with it.

As far as the MITB at WM25 goes, I'm still putting my money on MVP to win it. They won't let Punk win it again, cause he already won it, and won the title... and I don't like CM Punk that much except the fact that he's from Chicago, that's all. Christian won't win it cause nobody likes him and its such a waste of fucking talent imo. Kane, Mark Henry, and Kofi... no! Those would be shockers if they win, but no. It comes down to Benjamin and MVP. I would kill to see Benjamin FINALLY win a MITB cause he ALWAYS puts on a good showing and does a crazy stunt or too. Shelton has charisma, talent, and yes lol the Gold Standard. MVP is an up-n-coming face in the business, a new US Champ, just got over the 20+ losing streak... it'll be good for the business and fans alone.

Shelton... charisma? His personality is more robotic than Randy Orton's intensity voice.

But his talent and ability is second to few.

if you guys look back at WM22 RVD did win MITB and later on wining the intercontinental championship i can see shelton winning MITB but later on lossing it to MVP in a MITB and Title on the line with a heated rivalry and shelton regaining the title sometime before MVP cashes in MITB.(if that doesnt happen) as for MVP's title run it should be a strong year or so.

@ RKO Legacy: I figured someone in WCW might have done it already. I didn't watch that show so I wouldn't know, but in the WWE, no one has done it... not that I know of anyway. Could be wrong. But I'm just saying that just because he's the US champ, doesn't mean he can't have that and be Mr. MitB, or US champ and World champ.

@noumenon: Let's not forget all of Punk's title reigns in the last 12 months. He had a shitty World title reign, but right after he lost it, he went straight to tag titles, had a shitty tag title reign, and right after he lost them, he went to the IC title, and had a shitty IC title reign. Shelton's reign may have been stale, but I don't think that'd be the sheer reason he lost it. As Punk had 3 shitty reigns with 3 different titles back to back... to back.

I think this move just raises more questions about what the WWE intends to do with Money in the Bank. You wouldn't suspect or assume they would have MVP win the US title and then win the MITB like 2 weeks later would you? I personally would not. So now that match is really up in the air for me.

Commenting on how I feel about his pending title run... I am happy he finally stopped the jobbing and has turned around into a credible guy and should be ready for the ME after this reign if the reign is pushed correctly.
