No the way I see it is he ate the apple, and the benefit he got was that he couldn’t be targeted? Nothing else makes sense to me like if he said no it would just have been discarded surely. And even if he is scum I don’t see why he would lie about it, doubly if he actually knew what it did because he would have to explain why a possible investigative role got no result on him
