WWE is considering hosting more two-night premium live events in the future after the success of SummerSlam and WrestleMania.

In 2020, WWE held its first two-night WrestleMania. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown, it was held at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. The show was taped from March 25 to 26, but aired on April 4 to 5. No fans attended the premium live event, and only essential personnel were present for the show. Despite the unfortunate circumstances, this became the standard for future ‘Manias when the lockdown was lifted.

This year’s SummerSlam event was also special, as it marked the first time The Biggest Party of the Summer was held for two nights from August 2 to 3 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The first night was headlined by CM Punk and Gunther, which ended with a cash-in by Seth Rollins. Meanwhile, Night 2 saw John Cena and Cody Rhodes main event, featuring a returning Brock Lesnar at the end to attack The Cenation Leader.

Due to the success both events saw across two nights, it looks like the Stamford-based promotion might be looking at more shows to expand across the weekend.

According to Andrew Baydala on X, the success of the recent SummerSlam this weekend caused more intense discussion between WWE and TKO to hold more two-night shows with an earlier start and finish time. It was reported that the revenue and attendance resonated well with fans, and both parties will capitalize on this success by possibly introducing double-night PLEs next year.

The report added that Survivor Series 2026 and Royal Rumble 2027 are on top of the list to have a two-night affair in the future, with Money in the Bank also being considered to expand to two nights in the future.

Rumble definitely should.

Thought Elimination Chamber would have been contender though maybe they don't wanna do 3, two night PLE's in a row.

So the ironic thing is that the ones that this post are talking about are the shows that make the most sense to be 2 night shows, as Royal Rumble, War Games, and even MITB and Elimination Chamber are all matches that a 2 night show benefits.

I'd personally keep it at just WM and RR.

Any show they requires a men’s and women’s version of the match should be two nights so you don’t have to watch the same match twice in one night.

Well... there's the problem though. They technically do not require to have one of each every year at every event. We've seen time and time again in the past how they have struggled with that concept creatively and in many cases one of the matches in question fell short and felt like a necessity.

It would make immediately make any marquee gimmick Match like the Rumble, MITB, War Games or the KOTR/QOTRs feel SO much more important, if you can basically only win it every other year and it wouldn't put creative into a bind either.

I don’t foresee that happening, especially now they’re going to two nights.

Of course not... I was only saying it's not required. It's something they put on their own shoulders, which made fans starting to think it's the only possible way... which then the WWE started thinking as well, because of that. :lol

Just like it is with many things about how Wrestling "should be" in many people's eyes, after the company had it in their hands for multiple generations.

I just know WWE weren’t never going to do that so now that we’ve gone to the solution of having two nights I’m just saying if they were smart every show that has a mandatory annual match they’ll put the women’s on a different night than the men’s.

The elimination chamber, and the money in the bank they l would maybe consider switching off, but there will never be a year without a men’s royal rumble.

It's their long-time plan anyways, I assume, to have 5-6 two nighter PLEs each year. Heck, probably even more, with how thirsty they are for the Stadium shows.

With AAA, TNA, NXT and who knows what other special shows on top of it... stuffing the calendar is pretty much what they want to do.
