Yeah, I watch BTTF one, and two all the time. I'll be lucky if I ever find three again.

Jurassic Park 4 was written along with the third. After the horrible reception the third movie recieved the script was thrown out when no one would pick it up. They hired two guys to rewrite the script around 2003...they hit various speed bumps along the way and never completely finished it. I heard one or both of the writers died over the past year so the project has once again been shelved.
There were also some rumors that Michael Bay was a tentative possibility for director.

Anyway..back on track...
Agreed, LOTR can't really be considered "sequels" since all were written at once. Still a classic though..both in a literary and cinematic sense.

Most of these superhero franchises have flopped after the first movie, although I personally enjoyed the X-Men trilogy.

The SAW movies are garbage. The first one was innovative and brought a nice shock factor, they've really milked the series dry now though.

I think Pirates Of The Carribean was the last really successful true trilogy.

We'll see how the Batman franchise holds out this time around with the death of Heath who pretty much made the Dark Knight the success it was.

Coulda done without the third Back to the Future. Gotta be honest.

Man, I LOVE BTTF3. Granted the whole western thing didn't really fit with the first 2, but I think they worked it out well. I still get excited when I watch all 3 of those movies.

With Star Wars, I hope you just meant the original sequels (V & IV). No way the new ones were better than those.

I honestly love The Lost World, maybe even better than Jurassic Park, but Jurassic Park 3? No. But i could be biased on that since I hate William H. Macy.

Rocky V and Rocky Balboa.....'nuff said.

well if you want to get technical (which these things really dont bother me just saying if you do) the new ones are prequels

prequel-sometihng made after the orignal work that takes place before it (paraphrasing)

personally i (not trying to get into a debate with you) i like all 6 star wars films equally (i refuse to recokgnize the animated clone wars as a real star wars movie)

A prequel still counts as a sequel despite the fact that the story takes place before the original. It was made after the original, therefore technically a sequel. "Pre" was only added to show that those events occurred before the the events in the original.

And I never said I didn't like the new ones, I just said the originals are WAY better. The new ones are ok.....they're boring.

Agreed.

Saw VI (coming this year) would probably be their last sequel.

I just saw the trailer for Transformers 2 on youtube earlier, that sequel WILL NOT suck, trust me. Paramount took it off Youtube minutes after I saw it because it's supposed to be during the 3rd quarter of the Superbowl tonight.

That's one series I hope doesn't suck. The sequel has to top the 1st one. I saw the X-Men Origins:Wolverine preview during the previews to The Unborn. Doesn't look bad at all.
