I guess it's important to clarify what "getting emotional" means. I think the assumption is that it means getting sad or choked up. But really I get emotional every week, meaning that I am boisterous and invested in the show. I watch WWE to enjoy it, to lose myself in the show, cheer the good guys, and boo (but mostly cheer) the bad guys. So in that respect, I'm always emotionally involved and connected to the product. I make it a point to not become too detached, because then it's not fun to me.

Good point. That's what I was trying to get at, but I don't know if it came across that way. If I didn't have some emotional attachment to what was going on, I wouldn't watch because there's no reason to watch something I don't care about (one of the issues I have with way too many IWC posters). But, at the same time, I try to keep in mind that it's just a show and that they're trying to wring certain emotions out of all of us (and before anybody thinks that's what the evil Vince McMahon/Stephanie/HHH does, remember that all writers/TV and film producers/singers are trying to do the same thing). Usually, I'm successful at investing just the right amount of emotion to not get too carried away, but the times I mentioned above are times I got more invested emotionally than normal. That's all.

I'm kind of a complex guy.

Yeah right on. I watch to have a good time. And that I do.

Henry's false retirement would've been more emotinal for me if the Dailymotion preview hadn't spoiled him slamming Cena, but still it was pretty emotional.

Joey Styles taking a crap on WWE and quitting in I think was around the late 2000's was a bit emotional. Felt bad for him that he was being misused and even though the speech was kayfabe, it really did feel like they were treating him like crap. Of course retirements and funerals were obvious. I also gain a huge grin and happiness in my soul when Farooq appears to say DAMN!

Recently,Dean Ambrose's debut. That's right.:tough:

Seriously though, here's a list of a couple moments I found to bring the emotion out of me(excluding deaths/retirements):

- Taker vs HBK @ WM25/6
- Y2J returning in 2007
- Christian winning the World title for the first time
- The Guerrero/Benoit moment @ WM20
- Taker vs HHH @ WM27
- Angle's last match in WWE(not counting that as a retirement since he debuted in TNA shortly after)
- Bobby Roode losing the title to Austin Aries
- The Jericho/Michaels hug at WM19

When I think about it, whenever The Undertaker's streak in on the line, I get emotionally invested. Excluding his match with Punk.

Recently, Ziggler cashing in, Sandow winning MITB, Henry's fake retirement speech and his subsequent WSS to Cena, Brock vs. Punk, anytime Lesnar's theme hits is also a heart-stopping moment. Probably more that I can't remember.

Why excluding Punk's match?

I didn't think for one minute that Punk was going to break the streak. The previous years had those spots that I went, "HOLY FUCK, NO!"
Oh, understandable.

Really? I thought the Punk match was actually more likely to be a streak-ender due to the fact that Undertaker has said repeatedly that, if the streak ends, it should go to a guy in a spot where it would mean something. That's why I never felt like HBK or HHH would end it. Those guys were "A+ players", if you'll pardon the reference, and nobody doubted that. One of them breaking the streak would have been pretty dumb. It wouldn't have built anybody. Punk winning it would have put Punk into the stratosphere as far as WWE wrestlers go, making him so completely that nobody ever could have really touched him.

Having said that, it's a mark of how good that match was that people talk about Punk taking Taker to his limit now more than HBK or HHH did (I don't know that I agree...all of the recent "streak" matches have been excellent). I can understand, I suppose that you didn't think there was any way Punk was ending the streak. I just don't get how you thought that is all.

I think the spots during the other matches had me on the edge of my seat. Punk/Taker didn't personally for me.
Like HBK hitting the SCM on Taker followed by a pedigree. That just made me go crazy. Plus, I think the build up was better than the previous bout.
