I don't think I have ever been disturbed by a story line, simply because very seldom are the stories presented effectively enough for me to take them as anything other than storyline. Plus, it's different than a disturbing film because I am always able to keep a separation between the truth and fiction with wrestling.
I do remember watching the Undertaker vs Yokozuna match at the 1994 Royal Rumble and being really bothered by it. That was when 10 heels came in the ring and the Undertaker kept fighting back until the urn burst and all of the green vapor was pouring out of it. They eventually put him in a casket and he somehow appeared over the Titantron at the time (it was actually Marty Janetty). Now, I wasn't disturbed because I thought it was a disturbing story. But I was deeply bothered that a promotion would really insult their fans to the level that WWF was insulting us to present such an idiotic presentation to us. I was 18 at the time and my whole life up to that point was wrestling, so I took the entire thing very personally.
However, it does disturb me that anyone can actually look at some of these stories and actually in any realm of reality think "Hey, that's a good idea!" I mean, anyone who heard about Mae Young giving birth to a hand or the Big Show/Bossman funeral or the Ray Mysterio's son being Eddie Guerrero's son or Katie Vick or John Cena.... I mean the idea that someone actually put a stamp on these ideas and thought fans would like them...that is the truly disturbing part.
(and before anyone jumps on my case, the Cena thing is a joke)
