Montana Is back with another Raw Recap and analysis. Overall I thought the show was much better than last week and the WWE is seemingly on the right track, or is it? Two Blockbuster matches were set on raw as a match worth of main eventing WM, The Chair of the board Vincent Kennedy Mcmahon takes on HHH. And the Co- Main Event, Cena vs Kennedy. Anyone find that a little odd. None the less, the WWE put Cena/Kennedy Last which I liked.
The show kicks off with Vince, again stomping his way down to the ring with three unknown jobbers stand around. (They don’t even look like jobbers) Typical Vince promo, Guaranteeing victory over HHH. Vince then says each of the 3 men are masters at their style of fighting, and takes off his jacket only to call UUUUUUUMaga down to the ring. Kinda predictable, but I liked this segment. Vince appears to be backing Umaga strongly.
Next up is a great 6 man tag, this featured Team Extreme (Jeff Hardy + London/Kendrick) vs Shelton/Cade/Murdoch. This match was only 5 minutes or so, but it had a few good spots. Paul London even did a running Shooting star press off the apron to the floor. Its was a great mini match, Hell I’ll even go as far to say this was 3 stars. ***
Vince says The Real GM Regal will look over his son…..hornswoggle. Regal quickly loses him and goes on a hunt. He finds the Highlanders, they want the tag belts. (heel style)
Randy Orton cuts a backstage promo “In Chicago†saying he’s going to be the next wwe champ! You kinda had the feelin he’d come out later in show.
Holly vs Rhodes……Same as week…..Holly in about 5 minutes. *
Beth Phoenix in ring promo with Lillian. Generally I don’t enjoy this stuff, but it wasn’t bad. Basically beth wanted Lillian to announce her as new champ, Beth said she would crush her throat. Candice comes out…you know the rest. On a side note, I hate the Glamazon gimmick. It sounds stupid to me.
HHH then takes on Vince at the top of the hour. Right before another Segment, this time saying “Savior Self†Vince calls out Carlito as the ref, as HHH tries to catch Vince. Carlito keeps HHH away from Vince. Basically HHH and Carlito begin to brawl and HHH gets himself DQ’d Vince calls down his backup. UUUUUUUMaga. They go toe to toe for a minute and Umaga gets the upper hand, but then HHH grabs his sledgehammer, and now the game is on. Umaga takes a step in and backs away as the the tension is at a all time high. Great Segment/ Match , set up nicely for the wwe. **1/2
Next up Marella at the Movies. Funny little show, where we have this weeks quote of the week. Basically Santino gave a bad review to the condemmed, saying he’s a much better actor, which lead another actor, Val Venis to come out. Which I thought was good. Santino then was like “why do I always get interrupted!!†I don’t know, but I thought it was pretty damn funny. Val did his sex lines on Maria, which lead Santino to rough him up and take out his knee. Good segment.
Mickie vs Melina ….Dud…. basically hornswoggle came out and stipped Melina under the ring leaving her trapped.
Steve O appears promoting his new show, only to be shown the door by Ron Simmons…..daaa…yeah.
Next up is the big one. Cena vs Kennedy. Kennedys first week back and he’s already making a impact. He took the wwe champ out for 6-8 months with a pec tear. I give cena a lot of credit for continueing to get his ass beat, even though his right arm was useless. The STFU he didn’t even lock on. Then, which I thought was the funny. Cena is clearly injuries, as Orton comes out and drops cena on his face/arm. Then procedes to crush the injuried cena, with steps, tv, and RKO on the table, with no break. This is major major news, and I don’t know how the wwe is going to deal with this, losing their #1 guy. I’d assume We’d see HHH/Jericho fill those shoes. But what to do with the belt. It may be Ortons time.
