Viewership data is in for Monday’s live WWE RAW and despite stiff competition from the college football BCS National Championship game on ESPN, RAW rang in 2013 with a very strong showing.
Monday’s WWE RAW featuring the return of The Rock and CM Punk vs. Ryback in a TLC match drew 4.42 million viewers. This is up a sharp 900,000 viewers from the previous week’s (taped) New Year’s Eve broadcast, making it the most-watched RAW since August 27th.

Hourly viewership was as follows:

Hour 1: 4,290,000
Hour 2: 4,320,000
Hour 3: 4,650,000

As you can see, RAW finally broke the streak of losing viewers in the third hour of the show. What’s even more impressive is that the BCS National Championship game drew a staggering 26.38 million viewers.

Rocky might bring it up near 5 for his segment
You'll see, my estimate his quarter will do a 4.6

Fuck me I'm good. Holy shit.

A live show, and the promotion of Rock's appearance, plus the fact that they saved him for the last hour, worked very well. I also heard they moved the TLC match to match the game's break time or something, very smart move.

Wow! I'm surprised by the ratings. This was one of the better shows in months. The Rock's and Punk's promo was epic.

After two taped shows and with Rocky returning and the RTWM kicking off this is no surprise.

The Rock is the Great One for a reason.

I'm more interested in what Rock does for Smackdown's ratings on Friday, considering they're never as great as Raw's anyway.

Good draw, glad to see that WWE was able to keep people in for that 3rd hour. It was smart for them to hold the Rock in until the last minute. I think they should be drawing 5's, they have the ability to do it.

You said I was wrong about them getting close to 5

I'm actually surprised it did that well with the BCS game going on. Never under estimate the power of the rock. Shame on me
