The scene opens with a corridor. The corridor is nice, clean, spacious, with a velvet carpet covering the wide floor. Though wooden floor is covered with carpet, footsteps can be heard yet not seen. No-one is in front of the camera and yet the footsteps get louder. At this point the footsteps reach an alarming rate, the speed and sound of the footsteps as if they were right there. Then, from behind the camera a boy runs past, concentrating only on what's ahead of him as he continues to run past the camera. He continues on down the hall as the once stable camera now follows the young boy down the hall. His pace fast for the setting around him, the man holding the camera is keeping a steady medium rate which allows him to keep up with the boy. Up ahead the boy turns another corner, a few seconds later the man holding the camera follows suit. Only a few seconds infront, the boy has stopped at a large solid door, which reads the numbers 372 in gold. The camera, now beside the boy, sees that he isn't a boy but instead a young man, around the years of a mid-teenager. Puffs of dark facial hair, to match his hair, have begun to sprout up in different areas over his face; with no real cohesive or collective plan as a grown mans hair would do. The young man waits a few seconds, before knocking again. From inside the room a loud voice comments.
Voice: "What?"
Young man: "Ugh, Ryan ... sir, hotel staff, I'm here with the camera you ordered."
Voice: "Ah! Excellent!"
The door opens to show Ryan Harrison standing in the door frame. He is wearing a large jacket and long jeans, his long damp black hair flowing past his back. He sees the boy and the camera and then smiles, taking the camera from the boy.
Ryan: "Excellent. Look at this, a job well done. Here you go."
Ryan reaches into his pocket, pulling out a 20 dollar note.
Hotel Staff: "Sir, its perfectly fine."
Ryan "Nonsense. A job well done deserves some form repayment. Just keep doing great jobs. Thanks buddy."
Hotel Staff: "Thank you sir", he says before taking the 20 and leaving.
Ryan shuts the door, taking the camera further into the room. The camera man follows him, looking around at the marvelous Hotel room. It isn't the highest class, but its obviously a few grades up from the basic cover. There's a large flat screen television straight ahead, to the left is a kitchen/dining area, to the right are several other rooms, which much contain bedroom and bathroom areas. Down the straight path, Ryan stops in the television viewing area, positioning himself so that the television is to his right/the camera mans left, so that it is not the focus. Ryan puts the large lens camera on a nearby chair, adjusting the height so that its eye-to-eye with Ryan. Ryan turns to the other camera/camera man.
Ryan: "I need you here for the better version. The version you're recording is going over to Adam, and will be used for other IWF needs. This other camera is for research purposes, if I have to improve or anything. Comprehend? Excellent. Camera man, ready to begin? Lights, camera, action. This is for the fans."
Ryan takes a deep breath before speaking.
Ryan: "Alrighty. Firstly, I must apologize for the way that I am acting and for the way that I am currently feeling. You see, I'm only going to bring this up once. Just once; and its dangerous for me to even do that because the anger I am feeling could cause me to dip into some of my old ways, my previous techniques; and nobody wants that, nobody. Not myself, not you fans, not my upcoming opponent and especially not my favourite flying little bird.
"Just last week I was wrestling one of the best wrestlers in the history of this company. In the entire history of this company. A wrestler who was finally a challenge; a wrestler who was more than a challenge. Mr. Mystery was going to be a hell-of-a-challenge, and what made it even more exciting was the fact that I was wrestling Captain Enigma in the Main Event of our televised show. The world was watching and I would be the last thing that they would see. And not to sound like an egotistical jerk but I believed that last week, I went toe-to-toe with Mr. Mystery, even holding the match in my hand at one point. But then, in stepped the bird who just doesn't get it. No matter how many times I try to tell him, he doesn't understand there is a class difference. No matter how many times I beat him, he just doesn't understand, there are some people you just can't beat. Tell me, would it be wrong of me to finally eliminate Jayson Raven, for good? Would it be wrong to finally remove the cancer from the IWF! No, I didn't think so. I would honestly be doing most of the IWF a favour. But unfortunately that opportunity will have to wait, because now that freak is Main Eventing this week? Has he even produced a win? Has he done anything worth mentioning? He just steps in and attacks wrestlers! He just steps in and continues to be a thorn in my side! He has already discredited my Main Event match; in one week! He's just a .... Hmph! See? I have to stop. Before things get crazy. Before I get out of control."
Ryan stops and takes a few more deep breathes.
Ryan: "Ok. Ok. There's no point to continue dwelling on the past right now when I have a mouth watering, 5-star, pre-Match of the Year candidate waiting for me. I will say this though. Oh, Jayson. This is nowhere near the end. You and I, we were done. I had finally ended what we had going. We were going to split paths after our opening match, in this new IWF. But now, you've truly gone too far now. I was competing in a match that could have pushed me to a new height in the IWF but once again you got into my way. We will meet, simply because you can't let go. And then, I'll break your wings. Then you'll wish that the match never went ahead. Then you'll wish you had left me alone. Then, and maybe only then, you'll understand that I have just improved in our time off. But you will soon understand, whether I drill the distraught into your skull or not, you'll learn that you are just not good enough anymore.
"Hmm.... as for this week, well as I mentioned before, I have been given a top quality match, with a mouth-watering opportunity, against someone I know very, very well. Yet it is someone I have desired to face in the IWF for a long, long time, A Dam of Freedom. That's right, the legendary Adam Freeman. I must say, I was highly interested with what you had to say, no doubt. And like always I was impressed. There are very few people in the world, whether they be wrestlers, comedians or actors, that have the ability to make me laugh, cry and take you seriously at the same time, but A Dam of Freedom, you my boy, you pull it off nicely. I mean, some of the stuff you said, was amazing. I loved how you compared me to the flying rodent who just won't leave me alone. I'm obviously talking about Jayson Raven, who just won't understand the current situation; that he is just NOT GOOD ENOUGH!"
Ryan stops to take another long deep breath, turning his back on the camera as he does so. After the breath has concluded, he turns to once again face the camera, a serious look on his face.
Ryan: "Sorry, again. That cancerous flying rodent just puts me in such a distressed, angry mood, I apologize. But back to my upcoming opponent. Adam, for you to link me to Jayson Sparrow, is an insult. For you to compare me to that mistake of a wrestler is as low as you have ever gone. Adam, the only reason that you and I seem to always collide, the only reason why I always seem to be following you is because we are both chasing after the same thing. And you know what? In all honesty, we are both damn worthy of it! That's right Captain Freedom. You know that you're worthy of competing for the title, in the toughest matches, in the new era of the IWF. And I know I'm worthy of competing for the same title, in the same matches, in the same, new great era of the IWF. Whats more, I'm smart enough to admit that you are worthy of competing in said era; as I have done above. And that my friend of freedom is why I am apparently the thorn in your side. That the great Damsel in Distress is why I'm always around. Why? You still don't understand? Its simple enough.
"We both chase the same things. We both desire the same items. What we desire is the greatest objects in our form of entertainment, in our sport, in our varying worlds. We covet them because to have them would just add another pillar to the legacy we seek to create. Yes Adam, Saviour to all, you've got a pretty damn good legacy going thus far. You've been Champion, you've accomplished a lot. But I said it last week, I said it the week before when I was trying to blow it into the brains of that stupid bird loving, gothic seeking, dark fiend. This is a whole new ball game. A new IWF where the Mobb Dynasty, Adam Freeman and others don't rule. Things have changed, rules have changed and only the strong will survive. The playing field, at least for now is back to even. Everyone has the opportunity to make their mark; its just how long they make it which matters."
Ryan turns away from the camera, moving around the room, in the view of the camera, his hands in his pockets as he does so. After a few seconds Ryan turns back to the camera. He pulls his hands out of his pockets, running them through his long black hair, before speaking again.
Ryan: "And that Saviour, if we go by your point of view, is why I have been chasing you; that is why I am always around. Constantly being the thorn in your side. Constantly bothering you, constantly annoying you. Because having good experience with a pest you can't remove, I understand the annoyance, and I understand the pain. And quite logically, you always remember the thing you can't get rid of; for obvious reasons. But unlike the pest which has being annoying me, Captain Freedom, you'll remember me more because I am talented enough to be there. Because I quite simply deserve to be there, side-by-side with you at the very least, as you try and accomplish greatness. You said it yourself, I have beaten you in the smallest companies, when we were struggling each day to receive applause, when we were struggling to receive attendance, when we were struggling to receive pay. And now look where we are. Though the company has changed, I have no intention of changing the way I wrestle you. I intend to beat you Adam, because there is so much more on the line than just our history.
"Adam, I will say it again and again, the IWF is changing. The wrestlers that dominated this great company, they are finding that their roles have changed. And the matches set for this weeks Mayhem are as good an indicator as any. I don't want to stroke my own ego but there is no match more interesting this week than ours. So much history for two wrestlers so young, we could talk for hours, but as the self-proclaimed Saviour, you can actually achieve something in conjunction with your title and save us from a night of being completely and utterly bored. No, we could talk about the history, or we could look at the fact that this match will move one of us closer to the IWF Title. Now, I've seen what you're like, coming so close to the title and falling desperately short each time. I've seen how desperate you are and how much you are willing to do to touch that title. Wouldn't it be a shame if the man you supposedly 'brought to the IWF' was the one that pushed your goal of the IWF Championship, a little further away? Hmm.... well, that's exactly what I intend to do because A dam of Freedom the IWF is very much changing. We are matched up in the final 8, and whether it was you, Jayson Raven, or the masked Yeti, my goal would be the same, to win the match to the best of my ability. And you know very well Adam, that like yourself, that would be with or without a title in the equation."
Ryan moves closer to the camera/camera man. The desperation as he speaks now more visible than ever in his eyes.
Ryan: "But there is Adam. There is a title in the equation and it just adds to our upcoming match. You and I, a few years history, a Semi-Final opportunity for the IWF Championship. It all makes for a great match, and an even better opportunity. Because at the end of the day Adam, regardless of what I've said here and what has happened in the past, I do respect you. I think you are a great talent, hence why I almost cling to you. But that is so I overtake you and it will eventually happen. It may start now, where you are forced to watch me compete in the Semi-Final, it may happen in a few months or it may happen in a year. Yes, a year. That's how patient and thought out my process has been. But Adam, I leave you with a simple yet effective message. Things have changed, and things will continue to change. The new IWF is now. So Saviour ... it may be time to shut up, change your point of focus and simply save yourself. Because everyone wants to accomplish something, and its only for themself."
The focus in Ryan's eyes quickly changes as he snaps out of the mode he was in. He looks up over the camera.
Ryan: "Good? Cool, switch it off."
Ryan looks to the side as the screen quickly moves to black as the scene comes to an end.
