Not sure why they aren't going with Lombard/Palhares for the mainevent, it sounds so much better and is going to be such a better fight than George Sot and Pearson.

Yeah Sotropwhatever v Pearson is such a meh fight even with another yawn enducing TUF season behind it. Lombard should (hopefully) show up as the guy who terrorized Bellator, he was so gun shy in his UFC debut.

Thats most likely why, they don't wanna risk Lombard laying another turd in the cage, especially in the main event.

I agree it's a better fight though, Palhares should hopefully tap him.

I think that the fact the event is being held in Australia played a role in making Soti vs. Pearson the mainevent. The crowd will want to see the best Australian fighter go on last. Pretty good card overall for an Australian show as well.

Lombards basically an Aussie based fighter or at least the Aussies have claimed him as one of their own, no one really cares about Sotrop though.

Sotipopinski isn't anyone but a failed prospect and so is Pearson, so thinking they could mainevent a card on FX is lulz worthy imo.

Lombard is still someone they have plans for, and Paul Harris is there to run out of the cage.

It appears Ronda Rousey has helped push UFC president Dana White into a believer. Rousey, who has seen her popularity skyrocket in recent months, is the current Strikeforce bantamweight champion.White has been against adding women to the UFC because of a lack of depth in terms of talent. However, that appears to be changing.


"It's absolutely going to happen," said White, of a women's division being added to the UFC, in an interview with Sports Illustrated.


White added that no time frame is set, but did say Rousey's inclusion to the UFC "could happen tomorrow, it could happen a year from now." He added, "The point is I'm committed to this."


Rousey and former champion Cris Cyborg have engaged in a verbal feud since "Rowdy" finished off Sarah Kaufman earlier this year. Cyborg is currently suspended until 2013.

Haven't really heard him say that he was committed to this before so it seems like it's definitely going to happen, maybe around January or something.

It wouldn't be so much a womens division as it would be a Rousey division, Dana's got a serious boner for her (understandable).

If they are going to do it, I expect Zuffa will buy Invicta soon to merge into a UFC Womens division.

UFC better start training models in MMA, because it will fall flat on it's face if there are female fighters who are indistinguishable from the male fighters going at it.

Belfort v Bisping sounds like a good fight, two guys that love to strike. Whoever wins could get the next crack at the MW Title unless Belfort stepping up to fight Jones and losing is held against him.
