I don't think so. Even though he's been down on his luck as far as injuries I think he'll come back better than ever. Should he get past Travis Browne at UFC 200, I think he should either fight the winner of Overeem vs Arlovski, or better yet welcome Fedor to the octagon

Speaking of which, there has been rumors speculated of Fedor joining the uFC... for real this time.

Fedor is washed.

Beat bums in Japan who have one fight on their record.

Say what you want about Fedor, he's always been a class act who remained graceful in the "tough guy" era of MMA. He really paved the way for fighters today, actually had the honor of meeting him a couple years back when he came to Ottawa.

I'd like to see how he'd fare in the octagon against guys like Cain and Stipe Miocic.

Still was protected as a fighter.

Can't deny that.

I do, best should be facing the best.

Cain wasn't beating scrubs, even Brock wasn't facing scrubs.

Put together fighters with equal talent.

He had one fight out of retirement, give him some time to build momentum. That's one of the biggest things in MMA, you have to build momentum.

If you're speaking of Fedor now over chronilogically, then yeah I can see your point.. but to argue that he has only had one fight out of retirement. He's just shaking some rust off, once he builds some momentum he'll get back on track.. especially if he goes to the UFC.

But if you're going to compare Fedor to Brock, most certainly they were no different in their prime. Brock was fighting guys he wasn't ready for and was luckily winning. Fedor fought the best of the best in Pride; Nogueira, Cro Cop, Goodridge, Herring. Then he went to Affliction and beat the likes of Tim Sylvia and Arlovski. From 01-09 he was top of the world. Maybe he won't be at the top, but I certainly won't rule it out.

Given Brock would have had the proper introduction and build up into the UFC, well then yeah, he would have surpassed Fedor. But Fedor has certainly made a history of beating the best in his time!

More importantly though, I'm glad we're in an era where we see hard working persistance paid off. RDA got KO'd in his first UFC fight, now he's the champ. Werdum got KO'd by Dos Santos in 08, now he's the champ. Robbie Lawler was most known for getting KO'd by Diaz, now he's the champ. It's cool that we're having fighters who lack marketing finally getting on top, and it most certainly may be dissappointing to odds makers, but always interesting from an analytic point of view.

Fedor fought Hong Man Choi and Brett Rogers too.

His Pride run was littered with Japanese wrestlers and guys not even in his Wight class.

Just stating the facts. Not saying he was a scrub....just saying....I'm saying.

It sounds to me like you're just trying to discredit his whole career because you personally don't like him... whatever your reason, that's your issue.

If the wars he had against Nogueira don't stand out to you then, I'm sorry... why do you watch MMA? I'm not hating I'm just curious, because those stand out to MMA diehards everywhere I go. And I myself have been in the MMA community pretty much since I was 16. The big wins should stand out to any MMA fan.

Who talks about the guys Chael Sonnen beat prior to and in between his fights against Anderson Silva? Nobody, he beat some tough guys but he was never able to defeat the big ones. Fedor's career marked that, and any fan of MMA takes a fighters key victory over his blightness.

Besides, I would much rather look at the manner in which they were defeated. If there was little to no offence created, I could see why you'd ridicule him. But the only blight I have against Fedor was his match against Matt Linland in Bodog, where he grabbed the ropes as Linland was trying to take him down.

I don't know the guy, why would I be biased? I'm stating the facts here...for every nogueira there's two yuji nagatas.

And I think beating and dominating Yuahin Okami and Nate Marquardt is a hell of reason for people to know who you are

Well, I don't. Not if you're gonna compare those wins to Fedor's wins over Nogueira. Okami and Marquardt are both very talented fighters, but they were never world beaters. They were never considered the best in the world. Not like Nogueira was when he fought Fedor for the first time in Pride.

Marquardt and Okami were title challengers and were running the division out of contenders for years.

Alot better than Kevin Randleman past his prime (rip).

That may be true, but they never DID win a world championship. They never DID get to the point where a win over Marquardt or Okami would be career altering. I would personally consider Jake Shields over either of those guys.. regardless of his ridiculously boring style he did beat some of the best guys at 170 AND 185.

Bottom line is, it's hard to get a moniker as "the best fighter in the world" some fighters never get it (Urijah Faber) was a former champion in the WEC and is a personal hero of mine, has run the most wins in the bantamweight division.. but I would never call him one of the best in the world.

When it comes to the heavyweights, widely considered are four: Randy Couture, Cain Velasquez, Nogueira, and Fedor. Fedor had the notch over Nogueira, Nogueira had the notch over Randy; out of the four, the only two in active competition are Fedor and Cain. That's why I'm clamoring for that match.
