MLW is kicking off 2024 with a change.

In addition to airing premium live events monthly on Triller TV+, MLW has a treat for its fans.

As a thank you MLW is giving fans one free signature event every month. That means you get a signature event and premium live event each month: one for free and one on Triller TV+!

Each event will feature a who’s who from the ever-expanding MLW roster of fighters.

The first free signature event will take place this Saturday night, January 20, entitled MLW RELOAD. Fans can watch nationwide on cable on beIN SPORTS at 10pm, as well as stream worldwide on MLW’s YouTube channel.

Additionally, MLW is expanding its touring schedule, including upcoming events in Chicago, Tampa-St. Petersburg, and more cities to be announced soon.

A signature event and a PLE every single month? It feels like a MLW caters just to me. I love monthly supercards and now I get a traditional one on PPV and a tv special?

Also, I love how court just cannibalizes whatever lingo anyone else uses. Not only is he using PLE from WWE for his pay-per-views, but now he’s stealing the NWA TV special name that they’re calling signature events.

I’m starting to get worried about Fusion…

I love the two-hour tv approach, but not at the expense of a weekly show.

It's definitely a replacement from what I can tell, the specials were what they used to splice up into 4 Fusions with a shit ton of pretapes

That’s why I was worried. It seemed like it.

My main issue is the tv special is two hours so we’re losing two episodes this way.

I honestly do think having ple and tv be separate is better though. TV should be built up to a supercard, not be that supercard cut into tv.

Just think if it’s one or the other, I’d keep Fusion over a monthly two-hour special. I enjoy pretapes, too, so I definitely don’t want to lose more of those with the change.

I think I'm actually more inclined to follow MLW if they just two events per month.

I mean it would be easier, but as a storytelling fan, it’s way harder to sell all the stories they need to for their monthly ple off a single tv special.

Unless they add more pretapes and angle building segments to the PLEs to build to future PLEs. Which I wouldn’t be entirely against.

I just liked the Fusion branding, though.

Yeah I mean of course they'd need to not have the shows just be match after match like supercards traditionally are... but looking at Reload, I think you see that they're aware of that, as there was plenty of story progression taking place.

Oh, for sure. I thought Reload did a good job building and forwarding angles, but I mean SuperFight and Intimidation Games would also have help build future cards if you’re only going to have two cards a month. Similar to how I book bimonthly efed shows. Supercard matches, but also having lots of tv show style pretapes and promos.

They still presumably have a deal in place with Bein Sports so I can’t imagine they want to replace a weekly show on Thursdays with one show a month on Saturday nights at 10pm. So I do have to wonder if maybe this is temporary and Court is just experimenting.

Apparently the last episode of Fusion after the last PPV was the season finale. Maybe they're running the other shows until it's time to tape Fusion again?

That’s what I’m thinking because surely Bein Sports will want their Thursday slot filled.
