“I am in a lot of pain right now after what happened on Sunday. But all you people want to do is hear me talk, right? That’s what you want, right? You want to hear me talk? I’ll talk [throws off Burberry scarf] but this is Max Friedman talking.

Big merger boss, lot of important executives here tonight to watch your product. Would be a real shame if something bad happened.

I wouldn’t want to embarrass you, man. Speaking of embarrassing, you’ve been trying to sit down with me to hash things out for quite some time haven’t you? Well guess what? Too little, too late.

Here’s why – When this company first started, it was all friends wrestling. Everybody was handed a ticket, except for me, see, I had to write my own. And boy do I have good penmenship because I’ve created moment after moment after moment for this company and I still get no respect.

Nobody is on my level. No one. Everything I touch, turns to gold. There is nothing I can’t do.

Every time I come out here, I am not expected to hit home runs, I’m expected to grand slams, and I do that shit on a weekly basis!

See all the other boys have to settle for being great, I have to be perfect because I’m the twenty-six year old who is constantly held under a microscope, because I’m the only guy who is capable of carrying this company on my back, as I have, for months!

It’s funny that I hear boos but I also hear clapping. That’s interesting. That’s interesting. Where were you guys this whole weekend when you were calling me an unprofessional piece of shit? I’m just curious.

You’re not the only problem, it’s the boys in the back too. The boys in the back all want my spot so guess what? You want my spot? You can have it because I don’t want to be here anymore.

Now let’s talk about you fans huh? You people call yours fans? You’re not fans, you’re uneducated marks. You sit there on your phones, tweeting out your opinions like they’re worth a damn, let me explain something to you people: you don’t know shit.

Your opinions suck, your opinions change at the drop of a dime and then you pretend that your new opinions match you old opinions, for example: ‘Man, I always knew MJF was a great wrestler.’ Really? That’s interesting. Because last time I checked you guys pretended I sucked in the ring for a long time and why is that huh? Because I’m not untrained like your faves? Because I don’t pretend to watch New Japan? Because I don’t dump my opponents on their head? Because I’m not reckless? What is it? Because I’m not chasing star ratings guys? What is it?

How could I possibly be the best? Well news flash – I am the best! I’m the best in the world! Because I’m the only guy who makes you feel and unlike all those other boys, I don’t have to do a bunch of bullshit to get you there.

I am a generational talent and you people consistently take me for granted but it’s not just you. It’s the big man in the back too.

Here’s something you guys can’t take for granted, here’s something he doesn’t want you to know. Do you guys know who the second biggest minute for minute draw is in this entire company? Nope, you wish. It’s me. It’s me. And if you don’t believe me, ask stat boy Tony in the back and see what he’s got to say but whatever you do don’t ask him to reach into his pockets and pay the man who has been busting his ass for him since day one! No, no, no, no, make sure he hoards all that money. Make sure he hoards all that money so he can make sure and give it to all the new ex-WWE guys he keeps bringing in that can’t lace my goddamn boots!

Hey boss, would you treat me better if I were an ex-WWE guy? See maybe you don’t get it man, here’s the problem with you boss: you got a position of power in a wrestling company, when the only position that you should be assuming is behind the guardrail with all of them!

I don’t want to wait until 2024, but you won’t listen to me so allow me to make it a little easier for you: Tony, I want you to fire me. Don’t count me down! You piece of shit! You shut your mouth!

Tony, look at me Tony, look at me – I want you to fire me. You f***ing mark, fire me! Fire me! Fire me!
You just made a copypasta lol

Big able to take something that is based in reality and turn it into part of the show is one of the best things about wrestling.

I’m sure there’s a lot of truth in what he said in that promo. But they’ve been able to spin it and it’s gotten MJF more buzz than ever before.

Kudos

Don't like "shoots".....backstage shit being tried on TV hasn't really worked outside of maybe the screwjob.

Probably the reason lapsed fans would rather listen to "bitter old men on podcasts" and read "dirtsheets" than watch the actual shows.

I posted it in the Dynamite thread but it can be in here too. Punk came out after promo to try to approach Max, but Max bailed out through the crowd.

People be acting like the MJF we get on screen is the same as MJF behind the curtain. No. MJF knows what he's doing. Since day 1 in AEW he's had everyone in the palm of his hand. He knows how to work the crowd. He knows how to work the dirt sheet writers.

but hey, if you believe that it was anything other than a work from the start then that's also great because it means everyone is doing their jobs properly. Because isn't that the whole point of wrestling?

ok that's enough of me being a smark, just wanted to express my gratitude to MJF and TK for being so great :D

Since the 24 hours has passed, went ahead and updated the title.

I’ve watched this thing a few times, and sent it around to a few friends whom haven’t really watched much wrestling in last few years. They enjoyed it and said how it’s one of the best they’ve heard.

Saw a lot of those type of comments during the first big Punk-MJF promo battle as well.

Ever since I started watching AEW I've seen some of the most legendary stuff in promo segments. Stuff I'll be going back and watching years from now.

On a recent PWTorch.com audio show, Wade Keller discussed the MJF promo on AEW Dynamite and how it’s being received backstage. Keller claims that much of what was stated on Dynamite was said privately to his friends in the last few months, and that some of them are now wondering if they were duped all along.

Keller said, “I know of wrestlers who MJF was saying all the things that he said in that promo to, but in real life private conversations that didn’t in any way seem to play into a strategy to work the dirt sheets or work Tony Khan or whatever you think that the con and the game was – who are now [asking], ‘who is Max?, how much of what he was saying was just part of his elaborate web of trying to create this believable, long arc work that would elevate him to…some higher status that’ll give him an even bigger deal and a bigger legendary Andy Kaufman meets Brian Pillman meets CM Punk meets whatever, for a WWE deal.”

“There’s also wrestlers whose eyebrows were raised [on Wednesday] that I’ve heard from and about who are like, ‘oh, we don’t make people feel? Is that what Tony’s authorizing wrestlers to say on the air that all the stuff that we’re doing to our bodies doesn’t make people feel but a guy who in three years has worked 22 matches, on average about seven per year for this company is getting to go on TV and disparage what we do in a promo that led to fans cheering him because he got to sort of heel on ex-WWE guys.’ Like there’s a bunch of money being spent on external TV guys who are just thrown under the bus on a promo to generate a buzz. So even if Tony Kahn hasn’t lied to anybody’s face about this, within hours of that promo, there’s people in AEW talking to each other going ‘what? what’s going on here? Were we worked? Who’s side is Tony on? Is he the captain of the ship? Did MJF work him? Can we please know what’s going on here? And by the way, can you stop throwing us under the bus and making us look bad?,’ Keller continued.

Keller revealed he spoke with wrestlers who warned him about MJF since he is always in work mode: “Multiple AEW wrestlers told me or people that I directly talked to who even showed me like screen captures of texts, like, what the attitude was towards this before [Wednesday’s] Dynamite, which is, ‘it’s a work he’s working the dirt sheets, he’s working his friends…he’s always in work mode, he’s always in character, you guys are suckers. You know, be smart about how you report on this.’

Keller also stated that there are those who once believed they were true MJF friends but now have doubts. He said, “It’s fascinating because the people who are tight with MJF and have heard him say these things are like, there’s just no way [this is a work] but there’s doubt in their voice. But [they are like] there’s no way this could have actually been a work all along. I had these conversations with them and I know how they felt…But what I’m privy to, it’s hard to reconcile what I know with MJF sitting down with Tony a few months ago going ‘I got a great plan, and it’s going to culminate in Los Angeles and you don’t even have to do anything, Tony, just say no comment, and we’re gonna make this work.”

AEW has removed MJF from their roster page since the Dynamite promo. His merchandise has been withdrawn, and he has been removed from TV show intros.

Ugh pro wrestlers these days are so insecure "don't work me bro" "don't make me feel bad because I work hard"...please, be happy your show might get a hot angle that could get attention and the houses could get bigger so your pay could also increase....fucking marks.
