WWE somehow manages to create, even if they don't realize it, scenarios in which should they want to, they could push wrestlers far higher to where they are at the moment, but for some reason, they just shut the door close.

This is not a thread to discuss "damn they should push X wrestler", but to bring back times when a push of a wrestler was more than likely, almost necesary and obvious, yet WWE didn't do it.

Chavo Guerrero: This guy has had 2 times in which he could have easily been elevated. 2006, right after his feud with Rey Mysterio and Chris Benoit, he was getting great heat. WWE brought him back with the Cruiserweights and buried him along with the division. Then, in 2008, when he came back, there was a couple of weeks when he confronted Edge. Chavo as a face, give us Chavo vs Edge at least for NWO? No, they go with making Chavo Edge's bitch...even as the ECW Champion.

Mike Knox: Takes Bourne out in kayfabe while injured, destroys Rey Rey, gets WWE Championship match...and then gets taken off from our screen until drafted to Smackdown, where he now only jobs.

Matt Hardy: All the momentum in the world with his heel turn, gets moved to the Raw brand, gets the whiny gimmick that somehow even managed to get him more boos...and gets stuck in the US division and the injury list.

Give it a year or two and I think I'd prob be listing the entire WWE roster INCLUDING Edge, Jericho & HBK....

But for now...

CM PUNK... Became the most over heel in the company within a couple of months (Shock-Horror... Without playing the pussy heel role!)... Repeatedly jobbed to a cripple and now fueding with a ref and taking losses to R-Truth (FFS!!!).

Rick Rude: What more is there to say? The guy worked so damn hard and they did nothing with him in the long run

Ted Dibiase: He should have gone to the Main Event circle, but I guess Hogan had other plans (or so it's rumored)

Mr. Perfect: (see above)

Goldust: 1996-1999 before they ruined him, he generated soooo much freakin' heat. He was really the first "Attitude" character and the first edgy type character. People legit hated him, and he should have been main eventer with the promo skills that he had back in 1996-1999. People tuned in every week just to see what he would do/say, even though they blatantly hated the guy. He was the "Howard Stern" of the WWF. They missed the boat big time.

That's all I can think of for right now. Im sure there's more

MVP: He was the 2nd top heel on SD. What do they do? They put him on a losing strike that went absolutely no where. His altercation with Orton on RAW went no where. His tag team with Henry goes no where.

Mark Henry: When Mark Henry was drafted to RAW, he was in that gaunlet match. For the 1st time in years Mark Henry got cheered. Then the next week, (I don't remember the match) but the pop he got when he came out was insane. The way the fans did the wave thing with him was insane. This guy was mega over. What happens next? He's paired with Hornswaggle then a forgettable tag team with MVP doing nothing.

Kane: Way too many times the ship sailed with this guy, mainlly main eventing. Sad really. He's either in a forgettable feud or doing nothing.

Jack Swagger: Just on this weeks RAW, his winning streak ends. That streak could have gone in so many ways it was just dropped.

Kane has definately been ruined. The solution with him is to have him go back to the mask, and go absolutely monster heel insane again. He could put over someone like MVP after a 9 month build up. I agree. They let the ship leave port on Kane years ago. I kind of blame the "makeover" they did with him in 2002 when he came back from that injury and faced RVD.

Shelton Benjamin i mean ok, he is not gold on the mic. But he has had plenty of chances to go tot he top but it just does not happen for the guy. If he can learn from orton and keep his head striaght he could go far.

I don't think the ship has sailed on guys like Swagger and MVP quite yet. MVP'S boat is little closer to pulling out of port however.
They've made some pretty shitty mistakes with both guys but there is still a chance to redeem them, especially Swagger who along with Miz I'd say has the best chance of going somewhere.

I don't think Henry ever had a ship... we don't need another Big Show.

(BTW, sorry...moved the wrong thread...lol.)

Well for MVP and Swagger, it's not like the ship sailed and isn't coming back, It's more like it sailed and the compass is malfunctioning, so their return is delayed.... if that makes anysince.

Swagger has time on his side though guys, hes young athletic and got star written all over him. Mvp is older and wwe totally missed the ship on the guy.

And to go back to CM Punk, I don't think WWE has missed the ship on him at all. He's proven that he can get over as a face or a heel...especially as a heel. They've fucked up on him multiple times and every single time he manages to make fans care about him once again.
True this time around they dropped the ball on what could have been their next potential mega-star with some of the best heel momentum in years. But alas, I don't doubt when they do get back around to Punk..ya know..once Batista is injured again he'll have no problem settling back into his niche.

MVP, Punk, and Hardy all still got time and truly have the talent and ability to get to the top (again). Not saying it will ever happen though.

With Kane, they have shown he doesn't even need the mask to get booked as a monster and get credible. He was crazy over as a heel with the "is he dead or alive" shit he pulled during the summer. Somehow he got involved in CM Punk vs Batista for GAB and seemed a lock for a feud with Batista or the belt with Punk...but went nowhere, then dropping down the card and getting squashed by Rey Mysterio.

Evan Bourne: First PPV match against Matt Hardy, takes Rey Rey to the limit, stands up against Mark Henry and Kane, is unbeatable on ECW...gets injured, and instead of returning at least with a feud with Mike Knox who took him out, returns to ECW and feuds with Tyson Kidd, doesn't get the belt opportunity and is now nothing on Raw.

Cryme Tyme- JTG and Shad have won numerous contenders matches but they either lose the match or it doesn't even get booked. These two as over as any duo in the WWE yet the WWE still continues to hold them back (with the exception of the Hart Dynasty feud) and rarely are given any serious TV time. They are hands down my favorite tag team in the WWE.

I blame Kane sobbing like a little girl when Lita ditched him.
