Actually i dont know about playstation but xbox has always had a cheap connotation to it, some people forget that years ago xbox was a laughing stock..

The red ring of death thing killed the reputation of xbox in a large part and the only reason that they sold more than the playstation was because it was cheaper, and had indeed come out with some good games, but playstation has its good worth as well.

I actually wanted to buy a ps3 just to play mgs4 but i didnt, hope ps4 is backwards compatible ill play mgs 4 as soon as i get it.

The xbox has also had the problems of providing me with a cheap mic that literally broke in half a while ago, and an xbox controller that became so unresponsive that i had to buy another one, and this has been a common problem for many, believe me...

For the most part what i play are rockstar games and fifa, but gears of war, and bioshock for example are some of the only reason i dont fully regret getting an xbox.

True, sony has failed in many ways to keep its ground as the choice device for non nintendo style fans, but theyve still managed to sell more consoles than microsoft, that comes from pedigree consisting that people could have easily gone to xbox directly as i did, and leave playstation in a whole for years, which is kind of what happened at a point.

It can also be argued that the system selective games have been overall better on the xbox in this generation.

I like the fact that playstation is free online, and it's hud is not as ridiculous to me as xbox's, along with other annoying things, but i wonder...Does the playstation have a older average age when it comes to it's owners?

xbox has sold way more consoles in america and adjoining countries than sony, and its been noticed as ive been given the idea that the big amount of mexicans, and little children ive played with.

Although it might sound a bit "bad" i have had very bad experiences with mexicans screaming obscenities at me, and the servers in fifa are filled with them, also with children, perhaps the play station's change of demographic would be good for me.

It really varies on the person's experience with consoles. I personally don't hate any console as each gives such a different experience than the other, it's refreshing to switch every once awhile.

Though, if I do base my opinions of the consoles off of my personal experiences with each, I would say Xbox 360 is the best by far. I don't really play by myself online as you've had, I'm usually with my friends in a game playing whatever. So, when I do run into these annoying people and/or children, it's not as bad. In fact, those pissed off gamers are what makes things even funnier.

I actually do wish I would have a PS3 in my possession in the future because my favorite game of all time has a high probability that it's only coming out on PS3. Also, it would be a load off my mind to not have to pay for membership as money is getting tighter and tighter every year.

Im reffering to that fact that a big bulk of the first xbox 360's in the market were affected by the red ring of death syndrome, it really affected the system for quite some time, an it was indeed made into a laughing stock in the gaming world, videos in youtube on how to fix your xbox were made, and also videos ridiculing the poor manufacturing in many of the consoles.

It was a big controversy for sometime, and a laughing stock for many, that microsoft could fail so badly with the manufacturing of consoles, people were scared of buying one, freightened that it might break down.

They have since resolved that, but it was a chapter in it's history. You totally ignored that and gave me a history lesson on its effect on online gaming, no one denies that.

I've simply had a variety of problems with the 360...
1. I have to pay a monthly subscription to play online.
2. I have to deal with the horrible hud.
3. I have have to deal with the crappy manufacturing of xbox headsets and controllers.
4. I have had to deal with mexicans insulting me and children ruining my games.

Now the ps3...
1. You dont have to pay a subscription.
2. I like the HUD
3. I dont have one but i doubt the manufacturing of the accessories it comes with are as cheap as xbox's
4. The fact that 10-15 million more people in america and countries surrounding own xbox more than ps3 gives me the idea that the overall amount of mexicans and small childrens whos parents were to cheap to buy the ps3 would lower in percentage.

Top that off with the fact that favorites such as the god of war series, and metal gear are on playstation ( metal gear apparently coming to xbox and ps3 with 2 games ) and that most of the games i play like rockstar games, and fifa games are available for the ps3, and i care very little about the xbox's exclusives...

Obviously give me a tendency toward owning a ps3.

On top of that i could play many old playstation games through the store that i cant on xbox.

Its my personal feeling.

Also the big love for halo, i HATE...they did this one thing where the dashboard was filled with a counter, i couldnt careless for the dam thing.

Other than gears of war and halo, what huge exclusive titles does the xbox have i personally cant possibly skip? Id be happy to play uncharted and god of war, and mgs 4, the ps3 also has a blue ray drive, and comes with rechargable controllers apparently, something that xbox doesnt for the sake of making you buy a rechargable controller.

Wouldnt surprise me if during an extended period of time, maintaining the xbox accesories and services supersedes the prices needed to own a ps3..

Wow, I don't blame you for hating it after all of that. Most of my friends have gone through multiple Red Rings of Death and other unfortunate things like that, but I have never had any bad experience with it other than having to pay for it. The HUD is fine for me, I've never had to buy any extra accessories besides another controller that's wired so I can play with it on my PC, and no one really bothers me online. Like I said, it really all depends on the person.

Wow, I don't blame you for hating it after all of that. Like I said, it really all depends on the person.

But of course, different people obviously like different things.

But in the end i bought the xbox because i wanted to give it a chance but i was aware of many of its drawbacks, and now i would completely regret it if it wasnt for some good memories with a friend of mine.

I had to buy many batteries, then when the two analog sticks stopped moving well i had to buy a wired controller to save on batteries, in my 3 years of xbox ive had to buy 3 60 dollar memberships totalling out in 180 dollars, plus the replacement of the cheap controllers and mics.

My friend in real life had to get his repaired by a bootleg guy and was out for several months, my cousin had to do the same, and eventually bought a new one, while also buying his other cousin's 360 hard drive for his own purpose, since HIS xbox had also broke.

Xbox stands for 3 things overall for me.

1. Cheap manufacturing of products.:upset:
2. Money grabbing schemes.:finger:
3. Horrible experiences with xbox universe. :maybe:

Cant wait till ps4 comes out, if it comes out in 2 years plus i wouldnt put getting a ps3 out of the picture. I wonder when the earliest for the next generation to come out is...

I cant say i expect anything before winter 2014 and even that might be a longshot....

People also forget that the PS3 had the EXACT same problem known as the yellow light of doom in it's early stages.
The HUD argument isn't a functional argument either sadly since it all comes down to taste and thus is subjective. I respect but your opinion but it cannot be taken as an established truth
