After Cole has his match with Lawler at WrestleMania XXVII what role do you expect him to play on RAW?

During the past couple of months he has become more than just a commentator and has become a complete character on RAW and is now one of the top heels on the show. I have my doubts that he will go back to being behind the announce desk as I think WWE will take advantage of the momentum of his character and he will be used in a bigger role. Plus WWE have already been using Josh Matthews to commentate on RAW so they may be grooming him for the role.

Will he continue to announce on RAW? Will he be the GM? Will he become a manager? What role will he play?

I strongly believe he will be a manager for Swagger perhaps, maybe even a little stable or something.

Cole could just as well be the next Paul Heyman!

He has to be the mouthpiece for either some heel wrestlers or as GM. It would be good if he has his own stable with Swagger as the main wrestler and Cole as the mouthpiece. Swagger has gone from midcarding on Smackdown to being a top heel on RAW simply by being Cole's trainer. I liked deezy's idea in his RAW recap, check it out in the Reviews section, for having Cole win the Divas title which would lead to him bringing in Awesome Kong as his bodyguard. It would be a great way to debut Kong and it would make her a monster heel right away. Then there is always the potential to add one or two more wrestlers to the stable as well.

To be honest I hope Cole breaks his neck and can never come back. Seriously, I know some of you love him because he can play the heel role well, but let's be honest he's still a botching, geeky nerd who make's more mistakes than George Bush and Tony Blair did during there president/prime minister reigns. Call me a hater but I find him more annoying that Vickie, who actually pulls her role off perfectly, no mistakes....just get him off my TV.

Stop being a hater, Cole is far more entertaining than most things on Raw these days.

I'm allowed my opinion, and my opinion is Cole sucks. Untill he can actually announce a match properly, I'm not taking him seriously....

Thing is a don't buy into either reaction to Cole. I don't think as an annoncer he is as terrible as many make him out to be, just avenge, and while I have enjoyed this heel run I wouldn't say I have been blown away by him here either. The doubt I have is once this ends I don't see him sustaining this sort of heat for a long time.

To answer the question I still think he will be a commentor for the most part, but can see him maybe having starting up his own faction, but he is far from the next Paul Heyman.

LOL Prod, no you're not......Don't you know you're suppoped to follow everything I say as gospel truth and everyone who disagrees is wrong. /sarcasm

Anyways, Cole right now is unbelievably effective in his role right now. No one can say his feud with Lawler isn't one of the better feuds going right now. Cole's ankle lock is shit, but that doesn't matter. It's his mouth that is selling this match, I will be looking forward to seeing Lawler give him an epic ass kicking at 'Mania.

Yes, but once the feud is over, that is the problem, Cole is good in this role, but to sustain it, he will need Paul Heyman like mic skills, and I don't think he is at that level. Don't forget the booking has played a big factor also.

Michael Cole has had a year long build up for this heel turn so he is already established. After Mania, all he needs to do is say "May I have your attention please?" and the crowd will automatically start booing. He doesn't have to be Heyman, all he needs to be is Vickie Guerrero. She is also proof managers are needed in this day and agae more than ever.

If Cole can do for Swagger what Vickie did for Dolph, well I'd be a happy camper.

^Exactly "May I have your attention please." can become the new "Excuse Me". It draws the same amount of heel heat and is an instant way to get the fans booing Cole and whoever he has with him. Managers are a lost art and everytime WWE actually have a manager it is successful yet they don't do it more (e.g. Davari - Muhammad Hussan, Matt Striker - Big Daddy V, Armando Alejandro Estrada - Umaga, Vickie- Dolph)

Well actually Troy I would argue that most of those examples were not sucessful. Another thing is you cannot live off a catchphase, I have been impressed with Cole over the last year, but I think people are going a bit overboard here, he still has a lot to do to cement his place in that role full-time.

Vickie did well for Dolph, but where is he now? Back where he started with no one caring for him.

The huge problem I see is the fact that Vickie has a background, she's had years of storyline contributing to her heel role and that's got her to that level and she can help stars get over just through her power...whereas Cole? Cole has little background, all the fans see him as is some annoying announcer who somehow managed to get more of a say in things then he should of. I just don't think he could pull off a managerial role to the extent of Vickie, he needs time, and more storyline to do so. IMO it would be a huge step back for Swagger if Cole became his manager.

Vickie lives off a catchphrase, says "excuse me" and the boos grow louder and louder.

Cole says "may I have your attention" and the crowd grows louder with the boos.

Cole after Mania can't go back to announcing, he could be beaten so bad that he gets amnesia, and he still couldn't be an announcer. Because that would be dumb, but also he could apologize to everyone and still not be an announcer.

Cole is more than ready, he's already playing manager when he's on commentary for Swagger matches, don't let your hatred of the man cloud you're better judgement. Cole is prime and ready for a new role and that role is 80s style manager.

I consider it a success if the manager was able to take a wrestler further than if the wrestler was going at it alone. In all of those cases I think it was a success, yes not all of them won a world title but they did better when they had a manager than when they didn't have a manager.
