match on the October 20 edition of Rampage was pulled last minute when one wrestler refused to put the other over.

Metalik and Komander were scheduled to have a singles match on the show. However, our own Dave Meltzer reported in today's Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Metalik was not willing to lose the match, resulting in it being scrapped from the show.

"The reason the 10/20 Rampage show had only three matches instead of four is because Komander vs. Metalik was booked for the show and then pulled when Metalik refused to put Komander over," Meltzer wrote. "Metalik still worked Collision a few days later but that can’t have helped his standing here."

Metalik had just lost to Komander in a singles match taped for ROH TV on October 14. The match aired on October 19. He also wrestled on the October 21 ROH taping, losing to Angelico. Metalik was then back on the October 28 ROH taping and wrestled in a four-way with Angelico, Slim J, and Gringo Loco. Last week, Metalik was in Tijuana for a show with The Crash on November 3.

The M in CM stands for Metalik?

... aside from this, I'm kinda surprised they didn't book a different Match for the show on the fly... or do they keep the amount of people showing up for Rampage's that slim?

Nah it's after Dynamite so there should be plenty of talent, you'd have thought they'd have thrown someone in there with Komander instead.

Seems weird too just bc he'd literally just lost to Komander and always loses in AEW/ROH anyway to signed talent. The only difference is this was Rampage instead of ROH

Trying to understand why a luchador won't lose on X show is a losing game, but checks out

Right, so there was lots of talent around. Very weird thing. :hmm:

SRS posted an update saying it was always planned to be 3 matches. Metalik apparently didn't want to lose whilst not signed but not exactly going to make Khan want to sign you by doing that. Shame cause he is a great wrestler

If a talent that wasn’t signed me to refused to do a planned match over a job, I certainly wouldn’t.

Agreed. When I first read the story I thought who does metalik think he is thinking he can refuse to do a job? And then I read that he wasn’t even signed and that’s even worse.

I mean, just being honest, Tony already has someone that can do everything he can do and honestly better. So Metalik can work elsewhere.

yeah I am all discussion but like Komander is a guy AEW is slowly building up so ya maybe don't be trying to pull a Hogan when these losses mean nothing in other companies anyways

Pretty sure Metalik had some kind of a following in Mexico as well before he went to WWE and that also probably had something to do with it.

It's such a shame. I remember watching him in the CWC for the first time and was amazed by this guy. Really thought he'd have a chance to do something special, and just hasn't for whatever reason.

Maybe he had a beef with Komander after their ROH match?
