Good debate Flair! That's all I have to say.

EDIT: Just so you know, I didn't make this post. I was taking a dump and my cousin jumped on a made this post. Notice the intelligence difference between the first and second posts I made.

Thanks man, and know that I actually did take a lot at previous posts I can see the difference.

So, wait, for real, do you like Metal and Rock, or do you dislike rock and like metal? Since you said it wasn't you who made the original post.

Edit: And if you need me to go into further detail for individual points I made just ask because I didn't have much time to write my argument, and its kind of sloppy and thrown together.

I like some rock but Metal is my main thing. I'm just getting into Black Metal such as Emperor, Watain, and Dragonlord. Those are all good bands.

EDIT: Yeah and I got neg repped by Monkeystyle because of my cousin's stupid move...

Thats cool. If you like Emperor, there was a big article/interview with them in the latest Guitar World magazine. Metal isn't really my thing but if you like them you should check it out.

sum 41,punk? lol

Bands i mainly listen to are,
The Black Dahlia Murder
All Shall Perish
Eternal Lord
Lamb Of God
Suicide Silence
Suffokate
The Hunt For IDA Wave

no sub genres, just like those bands.

I don't like getting into arguments about music. But when someone unfairly criticizes a genre of music, that I like no less, I tend to give my opinion as well. I don't mind if anyone likes metal at all, I'm just trying to present the view of someone who doesn't like it, thats all.

yeah thats fair. It's understandable why people wouldnt like it!

Yeah I was reading it while standing in line at Guitar Center. I'm thinking about buying a BC Rich Son Of Beast for $249.99.

this thread is stupid. you cant compare both as they really fall under the same category..whats next? there's a genre for each song now?

plus, its not really about the genre, its about the band and their songs. a metal band can have a better song than a rock band has....then another rock band gets a song which is better than the metal band's song...ya feelin me? *does teddy long's dance*

Eh, not really. Theres a debate for it as long as you realize that Rock essentially spawned Metal, and that in a way, they're one in the same.

Besides, I don't take sides when it comes to music. I listen to a ton of different genres, play guitar, and have taken several music theory courses. So, I, among others, realize that you can have debates about musical genres as long as you respect the facts that are in place first, before you start.
