I don't think so, but i would argue it was at the very least considered extremely heavy for the time.

Personally, when it comes to rock that influenced metal, I usually list Deep Purple as the proto-metal band. Like obviously Sabbath n the likes were actual metal, but Deep Purple's MachineHead was very very heavy, technical, and the distortion was quite heavy in that era.

That's an interesting opinion. :WOW

If some folks can tell, I'm kinda into proto-metal and early Metal, like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Megadeth, Metallica, Iron Maiden, etc.

Also I saw Maiden a few years ago and it was a hell of a fucking show. Bruce moves like a man in his 20s.

TBH, I really love the band Ghost, been listening to them since 2016. I misjudged them when I first saw images of the band, after reading that won a Grammy for Best Metal Performance for the song Cirice. I thought they would sound heavier and darker. Surprisingly, they blew my mind after I listened to some of their music. I care careless about the lineup changes over the years. They still rock with the music they've released. Here's some of my favorite songs outside the Prequelle album:
