I get what you mean. Geographically they are not part of GB. Politically however, they do have the right to call themselves British citizens.

FFS, Sheamus is billed as from Dublin. Dublin is NOT in Northern Ireland!!!!!!!!

....It's Republic of Ireland, thus there's no two ways about it, Sheamus is IRISH, not British.
