MATT MORGAN has become the first heavyweight champion of TNA's new Ring Ka King promotion in India.

Morgan defeated Scott Steiner in the final of an eight-man tournament to lift the strap after a hard-hitting battle.

Also on the card, TNA newcomers Chavo Guerrero and David Hart Smith became the first holders of the promotion's tag team title.

Steiner proved to be a very 'over' heel with the Indian fans and had the crowd at fever pitch with his antics during a six-man match that was taped this week.

Ring Ka King is proving to be a very successful venture for TNA and the project, managed by Jeff Jarrett, will see a number of TNA stars appear on regular TV shows and live events.

After the show, Jeremy Borash tweeted: "Great second day of TV in India just wrapped.

"Tonight's crowd was insane, most seeing wrestling for the first time. Enthusiasm off the charts.

"The most heel heat I've seen in 15 years tonight in India. This will be amazing TV. Congrats to the team. Forgot how fun this can be."

I didn't know Chavo and DH went to TNA, I like the idea of DH in TNA but I would prefer seeing Chavo back in the WWE. The thing is though, he didn't get very many great matches and he got like no push at all and he was there for a long time.

This isn't considered TNA, it is more of a side project for them, so I wouldn't see this as an indication that DH Smith and Chavo will be in TNA in the near future.

I have seen a couple of videos and the crowd is insane. Good growth market since there are over 1 billion of them and it is a smart move to include local wrestlers on the show as well.

If I could watch this promotion, I'm sure I would.

At the moment I don't think it has clearance to air anywhere other than India but I am sure TNA will work out a deal with SpikeTV to get it aired in the US at least. From all reports it was a really good set of tapings so I am sure they will be able to sell it elsewhere.

Chavo was doing what he should have been in WWE. Wrestling the mid card and helping put over new talent. Hes great at training if he was ever going to be a champ other than the Tag Division it would have had to been pretty close to Eddie's Death or the period when Vickie came in.

MATT MORGAN :mark:

Also I think I remember reading that Mickie faces Melissa in her Raisha gimmick over the coming weeks so i'd love to see that :mark:
