Mark Munoz will headline the UFC's fourth FUEL TV event in July, as he returns from elbow surgery to take on fellow middleweight prospect Chris Weidman. However, talk of Hector Lombard moving into a possible title shot ahead of Munoz has caused a bit of an issue."Hector Lombard? Shoot, I got respect for that guy. He's a good fighter," said Munoz, in a recent interview with AllElbows.com. "But, I've been in this organization for over two years and I've been earning my stripes. He needs to do the same. So this fight against Brian Stann, should he win it, I don't think he deserves a title shot."

Lombard and Stann will meet in August in the main event of UFC on FOX 4. That card takes place in Los Angeles, with Lombard making his UFC debut after dominating in Bellator for years.

Munoz is on a four-fight win streak, but was forced out of a planned No. 1 contender match with Chael Sonnen earlier this year when it was determined he needed surgery to fix his elbow. He added, "Now I feel like I deserve that fight should I win against Chris Weidman."

UFC on FUEL: Munoz vs. Weidman takes place July 11 from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. Jon Fitch-Aaron Simpson and Brandon Vera-James Te Huna are two other planned matches for the night.

Damn. Seems like everybody is against Lombard in the UFC. Although, i don't really blame them he's being brought in and his first fight is going to be a mainevent.

I don't even know the guy, why is he getting closer to a title shot. Munoz should be the next if he wins his next fight.

He's an amazing fighter, but he's really unknown to a lot of people. Spent the majority of his career fighting in small companies and in Bellator most recently. Before he signed with UFC he was ranked as the number one Middleweight not signed to the UFC, but he can definitely contend for the title.

Easy way to sort this out - Lombard vs Munoz, winner faces Sonnen (assuming all three win)

Munoz has been a real bitch lately though, seems to think he has some divine right to be a top contender. It's not the UFC's fault he got injured.

Bisping is in the mix somewhere here as he's the other main guy who has a problem with the attention that Lombard is getting.

It is good that they have quite a few legitimate challengers to the MW title. Bisping should be first in line in my opinion, he lost to Sonnen but I thought that he clearly won and was only screwed by the judges. Munoz can take the shot after that and then Lombard after that. Should make for plenty of good fights in the division in the next year.
