considering how the women have rolled by without her, I disagree on the BIG part of the loss there, but I would have much rather stay of course. she's going to have her work cut out for her in WWE
i def think its a big lost in a sense she was a bit of a talent they developed and put time into.

I hope they have plans for her and not just another signing for the sake of it.

I see it more that they signed her for a specific role and thats what she did.

I think she was well liked. I don't think her actual run as champ was loved. She played a perfect foil for Toni.

They didn't really invest much more than that. The only non payoff is she did not put mina over on the way out.

She's a great talent I just don't think aew are losing a major piece , and I personally think she will struggle to stand out in the WWE sea of femme fatale archetypes

She had a near perfect run character wise too. If this was a tv show it be a perfect arc .

Given the Dynamite numbers, I think Toni came out of the program as the bigger star. AEW's women division is still rocking right now - Toni is one of the top draws in the company, Willow is looking like a star after DoN, Mercedes/Toni is a big deal match for All In, Megan Bayne has been built well, Thekla is coming in, Statlander and Hayter, Harley is making waves...

Do I wish she would've stayed. Absolutely. And I'm worried about how well she'll be handled in WWE but I do wish her the best. And hope she comes back some day. But AEW will be fine.

"You do not deserve the dignity of death. I sentence you to a lifetime of mediocrity. Your life will continue. Your career will continue. You'll be good, but never great. People will like you, but never love you. Because the star that you are will never compare to this monster that you've become. So you will dwindle, be replaced, and be forgotten.
"Then one day, many years from now, someone will ask, 'Whatever happened to Mariah May?' She found out what happens when you try to kill God."

it can be good for both May gets her chance to shine and AEW has a few girls ready to help elevate roster.

I still think talent are dumb for not shutting the fuck up about their future intentions. she could have gotten even more money waiting it out and staying on tv to bring her asking price even higher. I hope she also didn't actually ask to get out early either because asking out of a two year deal is kind of pathetic no matter how much of a fangirl you are.

don't get me wrong, brilliant run - but business wise? Idk man, why would you not at least faint interest in your current employer to get the biggest deal possible. stop being a mark for the letters and be a mark for yourself.

So a few things here.

Her signing a short-term deal was brilliant as I'm willing to bet her WWE deal (hypothetical until it's official) is a LOT more than she was making on her AEW deal.

I also think she is not ready to be the top Lady Rassler on Raw or SD. She was involved in a perfect storyline in AEW with Toni Storm but still needs fine tuning. I think her best landing spot RIGHT NOW is NXT. They need some star power after losing Giulia/Roxanne officially and Vaquer/Jordynne unofficially to the main roster, and she can use some seasoning.

Yeah there's a big logjam on the main roster and I actually agree she hasn't proven herself fully outside that angle. I thought she did fine but a lot of ppl thought the angle lost steam when she was champ.

Some time being a big fish in a small pond would help.her

Wish she was staying I'm AEW, but it is what it is. I wish her the best of luck.
