LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police have arrested a man they say stole over $10,000 from Saints Mary and Elizabeth Hospital back in January.
According to an arrest warrant, 57-year-old Kenneth D. Wilson was employed at the hospital between Jan. 1 and Jan. 31. During that time period on multiple occasions, he was given funds which were to be deposited in the hospital's bank account.
"These deposits included cash, checks, coins and other receipts for deposits into the bank account," police say.
But police say Wilson betrayed the hospital's trust.
An audit revealed that Wilson had deposited the checks, coins and other receipts, but the cash could not be accounted for.
Police say Wilson eventually admitted to his supervisor that he had kept the money. The cash taken each time was under $500, but the total loss to the hospital is estimated at more than $10,000.
Wilson has been charged with theft by unlawful taking. He was arrested Monday afternoon, shortly before 2 p.m.
