The Cutting Chef #1

Ok u can call me Chef and welcome to the first ever Cutting Chef. For the next few weeks or so i will be making more cutting chefs(depends on how popular it is)

This past Friday I visited Doncaster in England to watch 1PW; Resurrection. It was my first other than WWE wrestling show and I can honestly say it changed my opinion on what actually determines 'wrestling'. You see when I watch a guy like John Cena on a Monday night it really gets to me that these independent guys can wrestle the sh*t out of Cena, Batista and The Great Khali ( I had to mention Khali). You see WRESTLERS like Nigel McGuinness, Doug Williams, Darren Burridge, Pac, El Ligero, Jonny Storm and Jody Fleisch to name a few are as good if not better than anything you see on a Monday or a Friday night as far as actual wrestling talent goes. Colt Cabana who was also on the card has now signed a development deal with WWE and will hopefully be used to his full potential. It just annoys me that these independent wrestlers are looked over behind some big guy who can cut a promo but can't perform a decent wrestling move. To be totally honest I've overlooked promotions like ROH and 1PW to get my weekly fix of 'sports entertainment'. I will change my ways and continue to support 1PW by attending every show that I possibly can. I strongly recommend that all of you take the time to experience your local wrestling promotion either here in the UK or the US. I'm not saying ditch the WWE as that would be hypocritical and stupid as many WWE superstars can wrestle and entertain us. It is just a select few who let down their respective brand and let down the term 'wrestling'.

Now I've got that off my chest I'd like to talk about the next man to take the step up in the WWE .That man is none other than Mr money in the bank, Mr Kennedy. Kennedy now sits in the position that every mid-card superstar would kill to be in. Whoever came up with the MITB match for Wrestlemania deserves credit. It's similar to the Royal Rumble apart from the fact that this no.1 contender ship allows you to challenge either world champion at any time you desire. Both superstars who have previously won the match have cashed in their money at the right times. To see Edge quite literally steal the WWE championship from Cena after Cena had already defended in the elimination chamber at New Years Revolution was golden. Then five months later Rob Van Dam wins his first world championship by defeating Cena at ECW One Night Stand. Edge won by stealing which obviously suits his gimmick as he is a heel and RVD won the title at an ECW PPV which defines what RVD is all about and was truly fitting for a guy who was worked his ass off for many years in ECW.

After both of those perfect booking decisions it will be extremely interesting to see when and where Mr Kennedy cashes in his money in the bank. A friend of mine e-mailled me saying that apparently Mr Kennedy was all set to win MITB and then go on to beat Cena after he'd beaten HBK and walk out as WWE champion last Sunday. Now in my humble opinion I'd loved to have seen Mr Kennedy leave Wrestlemania 23 with the WWE championship. To be honest I would be happy to see anyone other than Cena as champion. I know I'm not alone in that feeling. Hell, give the belt to Chris Masters for all I care. I feel positively sure Cena is gaining more haters for every single week that he remains as WWE champion. Woah woah woah I'm trying to talk about Mr Kennedy and then I start ranting about John. That tells you how much he bugs me. Anyway back to the topic of when Kennedy will cash in his title opportunity. Some people are touting Backlash as the time and place but I'd like to see the whole Mr money in the bank gimmick last at least a few months. Whenever it is it will most likely be The Undertaker that he has to face. That is a match that I would like to see as I remember Taker and Kennedy putting on a great singles match back at No Mercy. Probably more interesting will be to see if Kennedy actually wins the belt. As both winners so far have gone on to win it is possible that this MITB will not be won when cashed in. Although that is a possibility I see Kennedy going on to become a worthy winner and a champion whom can carry the Smackdown brand for a lengthy amount of time. Going back to the Cena factor you have to say that if Cena can hold the WWE championship for twenty of the previous twenty-four months then Mr Kennedy can carry Smackdown for the next twenty years!! If I had to name a time and place it would be either Summerslam or Survivor Series with some sort of stipulation to help Mr Kennedy. How about a ladder match? That would incorporate the whole MITB ladder match and allow the lighter and more agile Mr Kennedy to hold the upper hand. I'll be watching Smackdown tonight to see if the situation changes.

What the hell is going on with ECW? First of all while watching Wrestlemania I am so p*ssed off that The Originals vs. The New Breed match is not 'extreme rules'. Then on the very next edition of ECW we have exactly that as the main event. Now I see that as a kick in the balls for every WWE fan who purchases PPV events. I'm not saying that the match at mania was bad because it was a short, sharp and decent match. But it just shocks me that they have that match on television rather than PPV. It's the fact that Wrestlemania is the biggest night of the wrestling calendar and then the ECW match is surpassed two nights later by using the 'extreme rules stipulation'. The Tuesday night 'extreme rules' match was absolutely awesome and just what we should have seen at mania. I'm not saying that the TV match should not have been 'extreme rules' but Tuesdays match could have been an exact rematch. I hear a lot of fans live at Ford Field used the ECW match as a time to take a toilet break or get some food. I think that proves a point.

Ill see u next time saying goodbye Chef

Good Post. I agree about your local wrestling organizations, and indys. I used to love watching the smaller promotions and comparing them to the "big Boys" You'll often find the smaller ones always give you your moneys worth.

Also Jericho came up with the idea of MITB, and eric bishcoff announced it.

I also agree with you on teh ECW match. That would have been sweet at mania, and would have really set the show off.

A gunman dressed in drag shot a love rival during a game of dice on the Far South Side early Saturday, then threatened to shoot any witnesses who told on him, prosecutors allege.
Supermarket grocery bagger LePaul Williams, 35, allegedly donned a black wig, pink halter top and blue pajama bottoms before shooting 23-year-old Brian Stalling at 1 a.m. outside his home in the first block of East 102nd.
But Stalling survived a shot to the chest and later identified Williams as the shooter, Assistant Cook County State’s Attorney Toni Giancola told Judge Ramon Ocasio III Sunday.

Two other witnesses also identified Williams, Giancola said.
Williams and Stalling had been arguing about a girl when Williams followed Stalling across the road to a dice game and shot him, the prosecutor alleged.
As Stalling ran away, Williams used his 9mm gun to smash the windows of Stalling’s car, which he doused with lighter fluid, it’s alleged.
He then threatened to shoot the witnesses and barricaded himself inside his home, where he was later arrested, according to a police report.

The wig, the halter top and a cartridge matching a magazine recovered from Stalling’s vandalized car were taken as evidence from William’s home, Giancola said.
Stalling was being treated Sunday at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn.
Williams, who is charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery with a firearm, was ordered held on bail of $2 million by Ocasio.
