There are tentative plans for Shawn Michaels and Triple H to be the last two participants in the Rumble match. It would certainly be an interesting twist but hasn’t been confirmed yet. Michaels’ has of course challenged The Undertaker to a WrestleMania re-match, while there was also previous talk of a Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H match at the pay-per-view.

- Booker T may return to WWE as a surprise entrant in this month’s Royal Rumble match at the pay-per-view.The former World Heavyweight Champion has had discussions with WWE officials in recent weeks regarding a return to the company.

Well so much for a rising star winning the rumble

Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker for the Championship at WrestleMania.

Wanna bet?

Yeah, I read this the other day. If they do this then seriously, everyone shit in a box and mail it to them.
If you want to put the same fucking people in title matches again and again at Mania then there is no fucking reason to even have a Royal Rumble. Just host a 6 man battle royal featuring Cena, HHH, Undertaker, Orton, Batista and Edge every fucking year to determine who will be getting the title shot that particular year. We can call the PPV S.O.S., Same Ol' Shit.

Hey noumenon, the new guys get the MITB right or will Punk win that for the THIRD TIME IN A ROW. I honestly get sick of HHH sometimes. I ask myself why he didnt got to Hollywood with the other two of his time. All the MErs are getting stale as hell to me accept for Edge. Orton is even getting on my nerves now. It's the same crap every year. I don't fucking want to see HBK/Taker again. I'm sick of seeing every combination of the MErs every fucking PPV. When will this shit end?

If Morrison doesn't win the Rumble (which I'd say by this point has gone out the window) I'd say he's pretty much a lock for MITB this year.

DX as final two sounds like the gateway to HHH/Seamus for the WWE title @ WM. (I'm guessing in a similar spot on the card to HHH/Booker @ WM19.)

As for the Rumble being about a new guy getting the push.... Whilst I share the frustrations about the new guys, I don't feel the Road to WM is the ideal time to gamble on ME-pushes unless it's a sure-shot like Austin in 98...

I think they are going for more HBK wins so he can face Taker thing but that works too I guess

What would be the point in putting either HBK or Taker in a title match at Mania if everyone knows they both take the entire Spring/Summer off?

Well, if such a match happened, obviously one of them wouldn't on account of them being the World Champion.

That or they'd drop it within a month or so.
I believe HBK already said something about him only wrestling half of the year in a recent interview or something. I know he said something to the effect that his new contract states he only wrestles up until Mania every year and takes until the summer off to spend with his family.
And post-Mania is Taker's touch up surgery time.

Why'd you say that? ...Taker beating Edge for the WHC @ WM24 and continuing their fued until late June & returning for the blow-off in August says otherwise.

In fact HBK did much the same thing that year after retiring Flair; going on to fued with Batista & Jericho.

Edit: Taker won the belt @ WM23 too.

Well, both usually take a few months off every year, and last year just so happened they decided to do it at the same time. And I just remember reading an interview with HBK not too long ago where he said that he takes time off after Mania every year to spend with his family and recover.
