Act Two: Part Three

- Having become the MLW World Heavyweight Champion at Zero Hour, Satoshi Kojima would cut a promo in the ring [Episode 17 - aired 3rd May] talking about how he hadn’t expected to become a world champion again at this stage in his career and that winning the tournament had awoken a beast within him and he was hungry for competition and that there were numerous members of this roster that would make more than suitable challengers for his strap. Before Kojima could say another word, out from the back would emerge MVP who would make the case that he had once been one of the biggest prospects in sport’s entertainment and that he was more than capable of picking up a win over an old veteran. Satoshi would chuckle at Montel and inform him that a man who had lost to Juice Robinson not once, but twice was hardly a true championship contender. However, Kojima would suggest that if Montel wanted a shot at his gold - he was going to have to earn it by winning matches in the ring.

- Montel would go on to have a number of singles matches over a number of unsigned talent in the lead up to Intimidation Games picking up wins over Michael Elgin [Episode 17 - aired 3rd May], Gringo Loco [Episode 20 - aired 24th May] and Aarow Solow [Episode 22 - aired 7th June]. On the go-home show [Episode 23 - aired 14th June] MVP and Kojima would have an interaction backstage where he would be informed that if he picked up a win over a handpicked opponent at Intimidation Games then he would heavily consider MVP as a potential future opponent, irrespective of whether or not he was holding the belt. MVP would accept the match, with Kojima revealing that Montel would face none other than New Japan legend Togi Makabe.

- Focusing back on the champ himself, on that first episode following the completion of the Zero Hour episodes on Episode 17, Kojima would team up with the man he beaten in the quarter final Shane Strickland with the duo picking up a win over MexaBlood (Bandido & Flamita). After the contest, Kojima would offer his hand but Strickland would slap him away, with the two having a heated stare down in the middle of the ring. The next week on Fusion [Episode 18] Strickland would feature in a backstage interview in which he would make it clear that he had no respect for Kojima, because all he saw was an old man that was stealing the spotlight and opportunity from younger men that were trying to make a name for themselves in this industry and that considering Kojima had a cushy contract with New Japan he didn’t understand why he was even present in Major League Wrestling, but that he intended to knock Satoshi off the shelf and make MLW about the future and not the past.

- On Episode 19 [aired 17th May] Strickland would compete in an intense three way dance between Sami Callihan and Tama Tonga with all three men pushing the other to the limit. Kojima would emerge from the back and his presence would throw Strickland off long enough for him to lose his focus long enough for Callihan to capitalize and nail Shane with the LTR (Lariat To Remember) long enough to stun him and claim the pinfall victory. In the aftermath of the contest, two different stare-downs would take place. One in the ring featuring Tama Tonga and Callihan and a more intense on at ringside between Strickland and Kojima that would end with Kojima mockingly raising his world title into the air and shoving it into Strickland’s face before the pair would have to be pulled apart by backstage officials.

- A fortnight later [Episode 21 - aired 31st May] Sami Callihan would pick up a singles victory over Sonjay Dutt. After the fact, Callihan would name drop Tama Tonga and tall about the importance of every victory matter and that despite the victory two weeks ago being over both Strickland and Tama - he wouldn’t be happy until he had held Tonga’s shoulder down for a three count of his own and demanded that Tama face him at Intimidation Games. A week later Tama would accept the challenge, with the added stipulation confirmed by the office of Mr. Court Bauer that their contest would be an official number one contender’s match for the right to challenge for the MLW World Heavyweight Championship.

-During that same episode of Fusion, Kojima would cut a fiery promo about Shane Strickland and challenge him to face him for the title at Intimidation Games before informing him that he would face him prior to the SuperShow on the go-home show in a tag team contest against a partner of his choosing. Kojima would be paired up with Makabe, with Strickland finding himself given MVP as a partner [Episode 23 - aired 14th June]. The match though would never even start, because before the match could officially get underway Strickland would pull a retractable baton and proceed to smash it into the side of Kojima’s face that would turn into a violent brawl with Kojima and Strickland beating the crap out of each other, with Togi and MVP also having a fight between themselves but it would be less intense than the bloody brawl taking place between world champion and challenger with the fans loving every moment of it.

Act Two: Part Four

- After the hard fought contest between Priscilla Kelly and Chelsea Green at Zero Hour, it had been Priscilla who had walked away with not only the victory but the first Star Token that guaranteed her involvement in the first contest to crown a future MLW Women’s Champion. On the fallout episode following Zero Hour [Episode 17 - aired 3rd May] it was announced that two four way contests would take place on that night and the following episode of Fusion featuring members of the women’s division. Whoever suffered the pin or submission from each contest would be removed from eligibility, whilst the winner would advance directly into a match at ‘Intimidation Games’. The four “survivors” from both respective matches would then face off in a second chance four man elimination contest on the go-home show - with the winner facing the two others winners in a Triple Threat match for the second ‘Star Token’.

0Gvn3IE.jpg

- The first match [Episode 17] would Tenille Dashwood, Sumie Sakai, Kelly Klien and Santina Garrett do battle with it being the veteran Sumie who would find herself on the back after being nailed with Spotlight by Dashwood only for Kelly Klien to toss Tenille through the ropes before stealing the cover and immediately book herself a spot at ‘Intimidation Games’. The second match [Episode 18] featured Leva Bates, Mia Yim, Zheda Zhang and Stella Grey and would see an element of teamwork as it was clear that Mia Yim was on everyone’s list as their main target and would find herself in a hard hitting three-on-one situation and would be unable to defend herself, however would show to the intelligence to roll underneath the ropes and out of the ring to escape further punishment. The match would end with Leva Bates wiping out Zhang with a Superhero Kick, before nailing Stella Grey with Critical Confirmation (Double Knee Facebreaker) before putting Stella on her shoulder to pick up the win and take the second slot in the ‘Star Token’ match.

- With the tag tournament taking place, the MLW fans wouldn’t see the members of the Women’s Division again until the go-home show [Episode 23 - aired 14th June] with the knowledge of the Four Way elimination match between Tenille Dashwood, Santina Garrett, Zheda Zhang & Mia Yim would face Bates and Kelly Klien at ‘Intimidation Games’. The contest would be hard fought with all four women clearly motivated by the Star Token and the benefit it provided later down the line. The first elimination would be Santina Garrett who would be nailed by Mia Yim by way of Seoul Food (Inverted stomp facebreaker). The next to go would be Zheda Zhang, who would be taken out with a Discus Elbow Smash by Tenille before Dashwood would scoop her up and lay her out with Michinoku Driver II. Tenille and Mia Yim would go for another ten minutes with both the two women clashing heads and look down for the count, with Tenille getting to her feet whilst the referee would reach ten and declare that Yim had been knocked out booking Dashwood the final spot in the ‘Star Token’ match.

- Ahead of the tag team tournament match between Filthy Factory and the Dirty Blondes. Mike Parrow and Colonel Robert Parker would join the Blondes in the middle of the ring. Parrow would state he saw no benefit in playing a waiting game and would lay down a challenge for Ricochet to face him in the ring on the next episode of Fusion. It would be announced (although it was kayfabe - due to Ricochet other wrestling commitments) that Ricochet had suffered a concussion and was unable to compete for a number of weeks putting the match between himself and Parrow on hold - with it being announced that the two men would face each other at Intimidation Games, at least that was the original booking.

- However, in an interesting turn of play Major League Wrestling owner Court Bauer would announce that the opening contest would be a five-on-five tag team contest that would see Mike, Parrow teaming up with Leo Brien, Violence Unlimited (Brody King & Tyler Bateman) & Hirooki Goto taking on Ricochet, Lucha Bros (Rey Fenix & Pentagon, Jr.), Juice Robinson and Donovan Dijak with the incentive that the winning teams would get to choose match stipulations in future meetings between the feuding teams and individuals involved in the contest.

+ + + + +

- Two further matches would be added to the card for Intimidation Games.

- The first would be a tag team turmoil featuring seven teams in the division, with the winners of the turmoil promised a non-title match against whichever teams won the tag belts. The seven teams confirmed would be:

- Chosen Bros (Jeff Cobb & Matt Riddle)
- GT Force (Jonathan Gresham & Matt Taven)
- Hart Foundation (Jack Evans & ? )
- Team Janelope (Joey Janela & Penelope Ford)
- MexaBlood (Bandido & Flamita)
- Team TBD (Jimmy Yuta & Jason Cade)
- Rookie Rebellion (MJF & Darby Allin)

- The second match would be announced on social media with Johnny Fusion confirming he would compete in a mixed tag contest with his fiancee Taya Valkyrie as his partner going up against a team of Tom Lawlor & Priscilla Kelly - with it being confirmed that a match had already been booked between Lawlor and Fusion at the next SuperShow event.

Act Two: Part Six

- Episode 22 [aired 7th June] would see both the semi finals in the tag team tournament take place - with the winners knowing they would face each other to become next MLW World Tag Team Champions at ‘Intimidation Games’.

FV4VAQX6JQv6Fka4DuV6uoj8eO4FCBJwY8Jr8Ral4eYPx-psHRkbkZOoDNweAAwN1u0hpXF_C39sV6paSsC6Zi2IVLOyCjxFgQBJ82Wp9CDPWZy2Kc4DzmQiLplwyvw0Wz2U2pCWEXqHXco1I2ct9nqWkmsJ91uqWSF5RCenUJzAWc6Fh0jJzXMzjqYY0w

- In the first contest the combination of ACH and Trey Miguel would claim an important victory over Yehi and Petruzelli, with The Midnight Triggermen picking up the victory and booking themselves a spot in the final. Team Filthy though would earn themselves a place in the championship match with the Filthy Factory taking the win over the Chosen Bros and booking themselves a place in the SuperShow’s main-event.

- It would also be announced that the losers team of Yehzelli and Chosen Bros would face each other next week on Fusion - and the winning team would gain entry into the Tag Team Turmoil, whilst the losers would be barred entry to ‘Intimidation Games’. The contest at the go-home home [Episode 23 - aired 14th June] would be hard fought with both teams desperate for a spot on the card, but with Chosen Bros looking to claim the victory - Tom Lawlor would jump on the ring apron and distract the referee, only after sliding a wrench to Fred Yehi who would crack Riddle over the back of the head allowing Petruzelli to hit the Pedigree and claim the victory for Yehzelli.

UPDATE
Daily DDT would confirm that Juice Robinson had originally been expected to challenge Hirooki Goto for the NEVER Openweight Championship at Intimidation Games. However, at Dominion 6.9 in Osaka-jo Hall - Goto had lost the belt to Michael Elgin in a triple threat match that had also included Taichi. Goto was set to face Elgin for a rematch for the belt the night following Intimidation Games [17th June], and questions are now in place in regards to whether Juice Robinson would still be due a shot at the belt since it had now changed hands.

16th June 2018

- Intimidation Games would officially get underway with a live musical performance by
AJR who performed the song ‘Burn Down The House’.

- The SuperShow would continue with Schiavone and Bocchini welcoming viewers to tonight’s special show that had been made possible with their partners at on FITE TV that would see a total of eight matches features on tonight’s card including the MLW World Heavyweight Championship match between challenger Shane Strickland and champion Satoshi Kojima as well as the show’s main-event the final of the tag tournament between The Midnight Triggermen and Filthy Factory to crown new MLW World Tag Team Champions.

- Tony Schiavone would reveal that the first hour of the show would see the 10-Man tag team contest between Team Ricochet against Team Parrow, the singles contest between MVP and Togi Makabe as well as the number one contender’s contest between Sami Callihan and Tama Tonga.

- The veteran of New Japan would come into the contest with a real intent of proving this was more than just an international break and looked focused on teaching MVP a lesson in humility and respect. On the other side of things Montel was clearly motivated by his desire of a future shot at the world title and knew a convincing win over Makabe would help him achieve that goal.

- The match would be hard hitting and tough with both men focusing on inflicting hard shots to the other with it quickly becoming a tale of who was able to take hard shots and stay on their feet for as long as possible. Despite the clear advantages in regards to stamina and fitness that MVP had, Makabe wrestled like a man on fire and seemed determined to assert a level of dominance over his younger opponent. Montel though looked as if he had picked up the important win when he would nail Makabe with the Drive-By Kick, but Togi would show his true resilience and manage to place his right leg on the bottom rope before the referee could complete his three-count.

- Rather than focus on Togi, Montel would take exception with the referee for the decision and his lack of focus would ultimately cost him as Makabe would take hold of MVP and wipe him off his feet with the King Kong Lariat to secure the victory and put a dash in Montel’s hopes of a future shot at the big belt.

Winner: Togi Makabe

- The 10-man tag contest was filled with multiple rivalries going on at the same time, which made for a very messy but also very anger fueled contest with arguably the only man without any real motivation going into the contest being Dijak - not that stopped that man from Worcester, Massachusetts from bringing his very best version of himself to the contest.

- When particular rivals found themselves as the legal men in the contest it was clear that the intensity felt was very real with some standout moments taking place between Violence Unlimited (Brody King & Tyler Bateman) and Lucha Bros (Rey Fenix & Pentagon, Jr.) when the four men were involved. Juice Robinson and Hirooki Goto also couldn’t avoid showing their disdain for each other, although what was more surprising was that Mike Parrow seemed adamant at every opportunity to tag himself out if he found himself set to face Ricochet which seemed to massively irritate his respective team captain.

- The match would end as it had played out, in a very messy fashion. Mike Parrow would finally engage with Ricochet with the aid of Stud Stable member Leo Brien with the pair looking to take out Ricochet with the Doomsday Device. Before hitting the move though, Juice Robinson would tag Ricochet out as the Lucha Bros would take Mike Parrow out in a double team kick combination as Robinson would secure the win by taking out Brien with the Pulp Friction to secure the victory.

Winners: Team Ricochet (Juice Robinson, Lucha Bros, Ricochet & Dijak)

- The contest between Sami and Tama would not disappoint with both men putting everything they had into the contest and were holding nothing back from each other.

- Sami seemed intent on involving some toys from underneath as soon as possible, although was reminded on multiple occasions by the match official that he would be disqualified for doing so. Sami though saw a loophole in this and set a ring on the outside of the ring, and after nailing Tama with a high knee would launch himself off the ring apron and land on top of Tonga with a diving crossbody causing the table to snap in half from the sheer force of the move - although it was noted by the commentary pairing that Callihan had bumped his head against the concrete and actually looked wobbly on his feet as if he might be suffering from a concussion following the bump.

- Tama Tonga would take advantage of Sami in his condition and would proceed to toss him around at ringside whether it was throwing him into the ring barricades or throwing him into the ring apron with Tama clearly incensed after the table spot earlier. Tonga would hit Sami with the Gun Stun and attempt a pinfall cover, only to be left frustrated as the referee would inform him that he was unable to make the count outside of the ring. Tama though in a state of fury, would drag Sami by the neck to the set of steel steps and lift him up only to drop him onto the metal with a snap suplex that would leave everyone in the front grimacing in horror at the brutality of the move.

- The two men would eventually get themselves back into the ring, with Sami now having a cut above his left eye and blood starting to pour out of his wound and making a bloody mess of the ring canvas. Both men would be going blow for blow with Sami looking like he was in real trouble and after Tama connected with a second Gun Stun it all looked over, that was until Sami managed to raise his shoulders at the last possible moment of a three count. Tama would smash Callihan with a forearm smash before attempting another cover, but once again Sami would break the pin. Afterwards though, Sami would push himself to his feet looking like a maniac wearing the crimson mask as he would grab Tama and start biting his ear before out of nowhere hitting his opponent with the Cranial Contusion (Double underhook piledriver) and then hooking over Tonga’s leg to secure the victory.

Winner: Sami Callian

- There was a certain level of excitement from the fans that the two time AAA Reina de Reinas Champion Taya Valkyrie made her debut as she made her way out of the back accompanied by her fiancee Johnny Fusion. Lawlor and Kelly would not come out together and it was very clear that they were simply two individuals working together for one night only.

- The match itself would be a tale of two tapes. One focusing on the battle between Fusion and Lawlor and the other between Valkyrie & Kelly. It was clear that Taya seemed to have an advantage over Priscilla Kelly at multiple times throughout the contest, but Kelly would show true survivor instincts and every time she found herself in a position of danger would tag in Lawlor to change the tide of the contest.

- The final moments of the contest would involved Johnny and Tom going at it like wild men and there were numerous moments when it looked like either man was going to leave with the win, but the ending would come when a distraction by Taya would backfire and she would end up spraying hairspray into Johnny’s eye rather than Tom’s who would be quick to react and throw Johnny over his shoulder with a judo toss before locking him in the Kamigoye which would result in Fusion tapping out, with Lawlor looking delighted with himself in the aftermath.

Winners: Tom Lawlor & Priscilla Kelly

The contest between Kojima and Strickland would prove to be a fiery affair with no love lost between either man following the manner in which Shane had attacked Satoshi with a baton during the go-home show. There match would be filled with a number of memorable spots and below are just a few example of that which took place in the championship match:

- Kojima would look to finish the match early and surprise everyone including Strickland when he would connect with his iconic Lariat within the first minute of the match, but Strickland seemed to be on survival mode as he would roll underneath the rope upon contact to avoid succumbing to a quick finish.

- Strickland though would show determination following the early impact, and would connect with a number of well placed kicks of his own before nearly claiming a three count of his own after nailing Kojima with the Storm Cradle Driver (Half Nelson Wheelbarrow Driver).

- Strickland would be the next to come close again, as he would expose the turnbuckle pad that would be enough of a distraction for the referee. This would allow Shane to grab a baton from underneath and smash it into Kojima’s skull before throwing the champion down on the canvas via the Space Jam (Tombstone Lungblower).

- Kojima though would fight for his place in the contest and despite looking battered and beaten would manage to push Strickland back up against the corner pads and fire off Machine Gun Chops before throwing Shane towards the ropes and connecting with an even more powerful Lariat to take his opponent down to the mat long enough to secure the win and successfully defend the world title.

Winner: Satoshi Kojima

- Prior to the match getting underway the only woman currently in possession of Star Token Priscilla Kelly would join Rich and Tony at the commentary table.

- The match would be a high speed match with all three women look to hurt each other, whilst at the same time getting the victory as possible and it seemed quite clear from the start that the biggest threat in the contest was Kelly Klien as she seemed to find herself on the verge of winning time and time again. The match would end in a sense of history repeating itself, with Klien looking to have secured the victory after she would nail Leva with the K-Power (Attitude Adjustment) only for Tenille to throw Kelly out of the ring and steal the victory by dropping on top of Bates for the three count and claiming the second star token in the process.

Winner: Tenille Dashwood

- The night’s closer would be a cleanly fought tough battle and the perfect means to crown new champions, with both teams not just showing their capabilities as individuals but also pulling off double team moves that showed the chemistry and dynamic abilities of both teams. The ending would come by way of an impressive finish that would see ACH tag himself out as the legal man, only to run around the ring and knock Silas Young off the apron with a running high knee. Miguel would then hoist Gotch up onto the turnbuckle and then send him and Simon off with a Spanish Fly to secure the victory and crown The Midnight Triggermen as the new MLW World Tag Team Champions.

Winners: The Midnight Triggermen

In a strange turns of events @Joey Bananas @Silent Bite & @The Fourth Wall all went 4/8.

Feel free to each send me three indie wrestlers - not on this MLW roster and not part of the WWE [2018] to take part in the Battle Riot.

you are all winners.

Act Two: Epilogue
Jg6WvC2.jpg

- At the conclusion of the MLW Tag Team Tournament, it was the combination of ACH & Trey Miguel - better known as "The Midnight Triggermen" that claimed victory over Filthy Factory and doing so became the new MLW World Tag Team Champions. With the bracket no longer controlling anyone's future, every other team in the division will very much have their sights set on 'TMT'. What we do know already though, that hat following their victory in the Tag Team Turmoil Match GT Force (Jonathan Gresham & Matt Taven) are guaranteed a non-title match against the champions in the near future.

- Juice Robinson is still due a shot at the NEVER Openweight Championship and question were up in the air if this was still the case following Michael Elgin winning the belt from Goto at Dominion 6.9 in Osaka-jo Hall. However, Hirooki reclaimed the belt the night following Intimidation Games at a Kizuna Road Tour Match. New Japan bookers have confirmed that the title match between Goto and Robinson will take place on an episode of Fusion prior to Battle Riot. New Japan have also confirmed that following his victory over MVP, Togi Makabe will be working a number of dates on loan with MLW.

- Satoshi Kojima successfully defended the MLW World Heavyweight Championship in a hard fought match against Shane Strickland and is now in the knowledge that the next man to challenge him for the belt will be Sami Callihan. It is unclear at this point whether the title match will happen at the Battle Riot or sometime beforehand.

- Tenille Dashwood claimed the second 'Star Token' and join Priscilla Kelly as a class of two women whom are guaranteed to participate in the match to crown an inaugural Women's Champion. No date has been confirmed for when this match will take place, but Court Bauer did reveal that two further matches for the 3rd and 4th tokens will take place at the Battle Riot.

- A rumor has started to circulate that an independent wrestling event being promoted by Cody Rhodes & The Young Bucks being labelled as 'All In' will take place in September and that Major League Wrestling will be involved in the wrestling event in some capacity.
