Madonna disregarded a gun ban at her show in Edinburgh last night. The Daily Record reports that police warned Madonna not to perform with the pistols and AK-47 she has used at previous shows on her current tour, particularly after the Aurora, Colorado shooting. Insiders had hinted that officers would break up the show if she went ahead.
However, Madonna refused to heed the warnings and brought the assault rifle and six-shooter on stage. Police did not intervene, allowing the gig to go off without a hitch.
She wasn't without criticism though. A spokeswoman for Mothers Against Guns said, "Madonna and her dancers using replica guns was always in bad taste but given what happened in Colorado it is even worse. She should know better."
