Well, Looch is going to rate (and kinda review) all kinds of Wrestling shows in here. Hope y'all enjoy my weird ass views and ratings,
because this is going to stir some pots now and then, I'm sure. Feel free to post, but keep in mind that everyone has their opinions
on stuff. Especially in a very strongly objective thing like Wrestling.
Inaugural Knockouts Ultimate X Match (9:00) Chelsea Green vs. Tasha Steelz vs. Lady Frost vs. Jordynne Grace vs. Alisha Edwards vs. Rosemary Opinion: Bad Opener. Biggest problem here was not enough time for that kind of match and I feel like 4 out of the 6 competitors shouldn't have worked an Ultimate X Match. I'd rather see an one on one Ladder Match between Frost and Grace, instead of either of the other four getting anywhere near a similar match type anytime soon. Jordynne sadly couldn't save the match and Tasha as a winner feels flat. I know it's a bit harsh, but they didn't make a good point for having more Knockouts Ultimate X Matches in the future. Rating:36/100
Impact X Division Championship Singles Match (12:50) Trey Miguel (c) vs. Steve Maclin Opinion: Very good intensity and pacing. Could've been the second best Match of the night for me, if they would've continued down the road of having Trey's lower back in jeopardy. They forgot about that in the second half, which was a bit disappointing. Rating:77/100
ROH World Championship Pure Rules Match (12:40) Jonathan Gresham (c) vs. Chris Sabin Opinion: Easily and by far the Match of the Night. It's been a while since I've seen a Gresham Match, but by god, I want him in a high profile (and I mean high profile) Match against Danielson so bad. That could easily be one of, if not the most technically beautiful Matches of this Generation. Rating:91/100
Singles Match (17:05) Josh Alexander vs. Jonah Opinion: Good Match. Aside from the hype video right before it, I had no clue about the story, but I feel like it could and should have been even more intense between the two. Rating:80/100
10-man Hardcore War (23:25) Eddie Edwards, Rich Swann, Willie Mack, Heath & Rhino vs. The Good Brothers & Violent By Design Opinion: Fun chaos, even though most of the spots simply didn't matter at all. It did went up a tiny bit in the end, when the ten Men basically restarted it once more, but yea... nothing outstanding. Rating:63/100
Impact World Championship Three-Way Match (16:00) Moose (c) vs. W. Morrissey vs. Matt Cardona Opinion: Again, all in all a fun Match. I'm quite happy with the finish because it definitely felt like they made the right swervy call. A bit overbooked maybe, but I think it worked with this Match. Rating:79/100
Impact Knockouts Championship Texas Deathmatch (19:40) Mickie James (c) vs. Deonna Purrazzo Opinion: I love Mickie and I really like Deonna, but this was at times just brutal to watch. They simply seemed to be off here and there and especially the finish looked just bad. Also it was weirdly paced. For me the Thumbtacks came out of nowhere and not in a good kinda way. It felt that they didn't really build up to the moment of throwing Tacks into the Match. You can't just go into it with "Let's use Tacks, let's flip each other off and we have our Texas Deathmatch in the bag." All in all a bit more on the disappointing side of things. Rating:60/100

All Elite Wrestling Revolution (2022) March 6th, 2022
Singles Match (13:40) Chris Jericho vs. Eddie Kingston Opinion : Hard hitting opener that really makes you get appetite for all else that’s gonna come over the next few hours, I feel, but also I’m pretty sure I saw that they didn’t went all out on this one. Jericho vs. Kingston can be much more and since it’s obviously not over yet with the two, I’m looking forward to more. Rating : 75
AEW World Tag Team Championship - Triple Threat Tag Match (18:55) The Young Bucks vs. reDRagon vs. Jurassic Express (c) Opinion : Second match of the night and I’m already struggling to rate these. It’s such a weird one, but in a great way. The first half, they tell not only a good story with the whole Bucks/reDRagon thing, but also make some little tweaks to change the formula up a bit. Then the match breaks down into chaos and there are a lot of breathtakingly awesome spots, but at the same time that half felt a bit too much and too long and it took away from the first act that I enjoyed. Also it didn’t help that most of them pretty much stopped selling during that part. Rating : 84
Face of the Revolution Ladder Match (17:20) Christian Cage vs. Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Ricky Starks vs. Wardlow vs. Keith Lee vs. Orange Cassidy Opinion : I mean what can I say. This was almost a perfect example of how a multi-men Ladder Match should play out. I’m a sucker for small things, which don’t look special at first, but really make the difference. For example Wardlow just holding Keith’s foot, while he was on the ladder to say “Hey big guy, get down here to square off” and Keith does it. It’s such a simple, but effective thing, that I have never seen done before in a Ladder Match, I think. Also I really enjoyed that they went always back to the big three hosses squaring off (without actually really squaring off) over the whole match. Big points too for having only one more elaborate ladder spot, which needed a build up, that they hide during the set piece at the commentary table. I also have to talk about OC, since the first full match I saw from him was that one Casino Ladder Match, which left a sour taste in my mouth. Definitely redeemed himself (character-wise) for me here. ...and one more bonus point for Danhausen, obviously. Rating : 93
TBS Championship - Singles Match (6:50) Tay Conti vs. Jade Cargill (c) Opinion : It’s such a tough job to follow a Match like that Ladder Match, but even with that in mind, this kinda fell flat for me. Some parts felt rushed, while during other parts it seemed that they were just off, timing-wise. The finish was smart, since it didn’t make Conti look bad, but overall pretty lackluster. I know it’s lame to think like this, but I do think, if they left off the Anna Jay/Mark Sterling spots and made rhis into a simpler story about Conti being resilient, it would have benefitted the match. Rating : 58
Dog Collar Match (26:45) MJF vs. CM Punk Opinion : The fantastic story these two have already helps to elevate this Match even before it started, but man, this was just on a whole other level. Outstanding selling, especially by MJF with his hand and he also pulled off one of the finest thumbtacks spots I have ever seen as well (and no, I don’t even mean the Superplex.). The finish... well, I’m a tiny bit soured that it didn’t end with the GTS and MJFs thumbtacks bump, but I get it. It’s the story finish with the ring and in the end it is the right call. Also they pulled of Wardlow’s turn without it taking away from the match or finish, which is again something you usually don’t see. Rating : 95
AEW Women's World Championship - Singles Match (17:25) Thunder Rosa vs. Britt Baker (c) Opinion : Alright match with an effective story, nothing too special. I’m sure they can do much more, but with the amount of outside interference it’s good they didn’t completely put everything into it. Now, the fans took me out of the match a bit. I do know that Baker is a fan favorite and she deserves it, but I think she’s getting a bit too many face-like reactions for her own good. Especially when you finish a match in the way you did here, it just makes these alternating Thunder Rosa/DMD chants, that you had multiple times during the match, so off-putting. She isn’t really a “cool/bad ass” heel or fights against a disliked babyface, which simply makes it come off the wrong way. Rating : 77
Singles Match (21:05) Bryan Danielson vs. Jon Moxley Opinion : I would say this is one of the, if not THE most honest Match I have seen in a very long time. Such a great physical war between these two, with a great finish AND outstanding aftermath. I don’t really have much more to say, to be honest, because it wouldn’t give the Match justice anyways. Must see match for sure. Rating : 95
Trios Tornado Tag Match (13:20) A.H.F.O.(Andrade El Idolo, Isaiah Kassidy & Matt Hardy) vs. Sammy Guevara, Sting & Darby Allin Opinion : Big ball of chaotic, fun madness, I’d say. Not bad, but also not much more than a (good) car crash kind of a match, with a couple of amazing looking spots. I don’t think anyone expected Sting taking a dive like that through tables, when those were put up, so extra point for that and good on AEW to throw that curve ball. Rating : 72
AEW World Championship - Singles Match (25:45) Adam Cole vs. Hangman Page (c) Opinion : Honestly, I think this one went a bit too long, especially with the way they filled those last round about five minutes. Now I'm not one of those guys who hates Finisher/Superkick orgies, because in the right situation it can work, but in this case it was too much. Both have so much more in their arsenal and to close such a great PPV with this is a bit of a let down. This match was again such honest work from both of them, but unlike the Danielson/Moxley match, they did kinda ruin it with going too far onto the other side. Still, it was a worthy Main Event and a great match overall, it just was a tiny bit of a shame with the overkill finish. Rating : 86

(I love the AEW commentary here, because you can really tell that JR, Excalibur and Schiavone just have fun working, so two points for that. Also one big bonus point for the Danielson/Moxley aftermath. That's how you present the formation of a high caliber Tag Team. Simple AND effective as fuck.) Overall Presentation : +1
(Card was nicely set up and I want to give something extra for how they handled MJFs and Punks entrances. There were some minor timing issues with the camera work, but not worth a deduction of a point.

Singles Match (11:40) Swerve Strickland vs. Alex Zayne Opinion : Haven’t seen Zayne perform yet, but I’m a fan now. Smart to send these two out to open the show, because it definitely got me hyped for much more. Both guys got a good amount in and big props to Zayne for not only selling his leg, but also to both for incorporating it a bit into the finish sequence. Rating : 82
Singles Match (2:50) Ninja Mack vs. ??? w/ Tully Blanchard Opinion : Brian Cage gets introduced as the new client of Tully Blanchards faction and this Match was a good way to do so. Even though it was basically “just” a glorified squash, Mack got some stuff in and he didn’t got out of this looking bad. Rating : 65
Singles Match (14:50) Lee Moriarty w/ Matt Sydal vs. Jay Lethal Opinion : Damn, just… damn. I loved how they told their story here. I mean they went for the “young guy has an answer for everything the Veteran throws at him, which frustrates the Veteran more and more” right from the get go, then they slowly put that one on the backburner, just to throw it in our faces right at the end with Lethals low blow. I was already slightly disappointed, that they basically exchanged that story for another “hurt leg” one, but that finish, also thanks to the pinfall back and forth right before it, just blew my mind. Speaking of the “hurt leg”, Lee, who looked like a million bucks anyways, sold that one perfectly. Also I’m glad I watched AEW before this, because that made Jays actions here much more exhilarating. Rating : 91
Interim ROH Women’s World Championship - Singles Match (12:45) Willow Nightingale vs. Mercedes Martinez Opinion : First time seeing Willow perform and she seems like a lot of fun in the ring. There were a couple of sloppy looking spots, but overall a good match, that got a bit more physical than I thought, even with Mercedes being in it. Also, with how the match went, I did not expect her to pick up the win, so bonus points for that. Rating : 72
ROH World Tag Team Championship – Tag Match (27:25) FTR vs. The Briscoes (c) Opinion : ...and then we have this match. I’ve read a lot about it, after it went down and I don’t think any words can do it justice. The sudden thick atmosphere, the fan reactions right before the first lock up (and during the first lock up)… it does come kinda out of nowhere, but you also immediately get this feeling that you will witness absolute greatness and then these four justify all of it over the next ~30 minutes. Amazing character work from all of them, sprinkled with the perfect amount of Drama as well. What a love letter to Tag Team Wrestling. MOTY candidate, easily. Rating : 98
ROH World Television Championship – Singles Match (6:00) Minoru Suzuki vs. Rhett Titus (c) Opinion : It’s always a treat to see Suzuki wrestle and while I don’t think Rhett and Minoru mixed that well, they still pulled off a decent enough bout. Nothing too spectacular, but nothing to complain about either really. I’m definitely intrigued in what they gonna do with Minoru as their TV champion now. Rating : 70
ROH Pure Championship – Pure Rules Match (12:55) Wheeler Yuta vs. Josh Woods (c) Opinion : I do love watching these Pure Rules Matches, but it is hard to rate them. At least for me. This one was technically great (of course), but they also played it out very nice with Yutas three rope breaks all treated very differently and then he actually wins, for me, pretty much out of nowhere… AND on top of that also with a pinfall style I haven’t seen before. Well played by them. Very well played. Rating : 86
Undisputed ROH World Championship – Singles Match (24:55) Jonathan Gresham (Original ROH World Champion) vs. Bandido (ROH World Champion) w/ Chavo Guerrero Jr. Opinion : It’s a Gresham match so of course it will be at least in the 90s for me. This one was spectacular. The whole story surrounding Chavo telling Bandido to not play fair and trying to help him win by cheating, just so Bandido tells the Referee to throw out his own Manager, was a great, unique set piece here that only worked because they already worked their asses completely off at that point. Now, I’m torn about the pacing. One side of me says it was done amazingly well, the other is a bit more critical about one, two moments, in which they picked up the pace late in the match. It can be off-putting, if it looks too much like they hadn’t done anything, instead of looking like they would throw the last reserve tank into the battle. That’s very nitpicky though and I don’t think this one deserves any point deductions for that. Rating : 93

(If there was ever a Tag Match, that would've deserved to be the Show closer, it would have been FTR vs. The Briscoes, but I won't hold that against ROH here. The atmosphere surrounding the Tag Match deserves a point though, as well as FTR using the classic ROH logo font on their tights. That's just genius. Another point goes to the video packages.)
