I mean the fact you can't name anyone else who should have won kinda makes Edge a perfectly reasonable choice.

Edge doesn’t really need to win the title again. He’s already won it, what, 11 times?

Big E springs to mind as someone who could have won. As the New Day are still over.

Who better than Edge really. He might go full time up until Mania, giving us Edge/Rollins, Edge/Styles, Edge/Zayn, Edge/Ali. Plus he's the perfect guy to reasonably put over Reigns or McIntyre without being "buried"

Tbh coulda gone with Bryan, Braun, Shinsuke or even Riddle if they were feeling frisky. But Edge was still a fine enough choice. Especially after last year was used to propel a guy on the rise.

I don't really judge Rumble winners too hard until I see who's challenging for the other world title tbf....then I'm really mad if I think the other challenger woulda been a better winner bc both title matches could have obviously happened the same way
