WWE SmackDown on Friday night averaged 2.22 million viewers on FOX, down 0.9 percent from the August 27 post-SummerSlam episode.
The show featured a Universal Championship match with Roman Reigns facing Finn Balor in the main event. It was SmackDown's second-best audience since July 16, which was the start of WWE's return to touring.
The show finished fifth out of nine network programs in terms of total viewers.
In the 18-49 demo, SmackDown drew a 0.62 rating, up 6.9 percent from last week. That led all network programming, nearly doubling the nearest competition, but it did trail a college football game on ESPN that drew a 0.74 in the demo.
It was the largest 18-49 number for SmackDown since July 16 and the third highest since February.
Year-over-year, SmackDown was up 4.3 percent in terms of total viewers and up 3.3 percent in the 18-49 demo.
